Thanks Sandranj. Where do I know if he ever filed annulment or divorce? He knows my email address and we have common friends at Facebook. Can he ever lie about it? Should I contact him and let him know my mailing address? I left him February. How long can the annulment or divorce proceedings take?

Just finished my fingerprints, very fast service. 

Almost done with affidavits and copies of proof to respond to rfe.

Please does anyone know the duration to respond to an rfe. I didn't see any deadline on my rfe sheet and it requested that I mail it with the evidence they're asking for (bona-fide marriage)

Thanks sandranj. How do I know this? What newspaper or publication will I go to? How can he lie if he on he cant contact me if he knows my contact number and we have common friends on Facebook? Although he suspended my telephone line he has all the power to reactivate it.

You may call the state clerk(s) over the phone to find out if there is divorce on record ask them about anullment too.

 

Also a divorce attorney may assist you. No need to contact an abusive husband directly at this point.

Hi I need some help. I am very confused, I filled for vawa early Feb and it's almost 60 days i haven't heard anything from USCIS. Do i need to be worried should I file another vawa ? Because i haven't even received the the receipt notice.

Not the court and you don't even need to go. Yes it's where you get the vital records just look up the state clerk's number online. Best of luck

Miletone2017 people lie all the time, can he lie? absolutely! 

 

I can't tell if you should contact him or not.I don't have details of your case then I don't know if your spouse is a violent person and you can put your life in risk contacting him. Instead, to contact your spouse you should file for divorce, it's simple, go to the Court and ask a divorce kit.

 

You should contact the Court regarding divorce and annulment. I can't answer your questions about divorce because it's not my field. In many States, there are several grounds to grant a divorce or annulment such as adultery, irreconcilable desertion, fraud, separation and irreconcilable differences, and each ground has a different waiting time to file a complaint for divorce.

Aquila some RFE they do not put when you have to answer but it's advised to answer asap.

 

Don't forget to mention about your Courtship in the new affidavit, you don't have to talk about abuse if they asked proof just about bonafide marriage. Let them know the reasons why you fell in love and decided to get married to her/him, your dream to have a family, tell if you discussed with him/her about having kids, plans for the future etc.

 

Explain very well why you do not have documents in both your names, for example, joint bank statements, joint credit card, tax filed jointly, utility bills, lease agreement, heath/ car insurance etc.

No Sandranj , i haven't filled G1145. What do you suggest I should do? I haven't heard back from USCiS and I don't know how to check for status.

I'm my declaration I covered everything from the day we met through the abuse till now.i didn't add that when I sent it my i360. My parents and siblings back home also covered that too because they were aware of everything going on and they've mailed it and I'm waiting for it.

 

Does it mean I've made an error by now adding up the detailed info?

 

Is that going to affect my case? 

 

We had in both names joint bank account, joint lease and utility, card, photos, all of which I'm including.

Aquila of course you made a big mistaKe not including  all details showing a bonafide marriage. It wil not affect your VAWA because they gave you a chance to explain better now.

 

If the RFE doesn't ask to prove abuse do not include details of the abuse.Usually in the RFE is written not to submit proof already submited,that being said if you told the story about the abuse and they didn't ask to prove abuse you should no repeat the same thing again.The affidavist must have place, date of birth and  present address of the affiants.

Behuman set up  an appointment of infopass and go there to inquire in person, they don't give information over the phone about VAWA cases.
