Conditional resident holder and unemployment

Hi everyone, I hope I am posting this in the right place.

I am a conditional GC holder and I filed for ROC recently. I have been working since 18 months as full time employee in same company, had full benefits and paid all my taxes. Today we had a meeting at work and we were told that a new company has acquired the company where I am working and we will be laid off. Yep, just before Christmas and the new year. I will be looking for new jobs and hopefully I can find one very soon. My question is that can I collect unemployment benefits? I live in New Hampshire and worked in NH. If yes, does that affect ROC or Naturalization? Will my wife be entitled to pay any money back for the government? I am worried about this situation so your answers will help.

Thank you.

hi

it won't affect it

you are entitled to unemployment because your company takes money out of your paycheck

What if my company is shutting down? Also, will getting unemployment benefits affect my USC wife?

It will not affect either of you. Like aleful said, this isn't a means-tested benefit, it's similar to insurance or social security: you paid into it so you're entitled to it.
