CEAC Status Ready After K-1 Interview Question

 Share

My fiancee is a Filipino residing in Taiwan for work and had her K-1 interview on December 14,2016 at the consulate in Taipei. They said she was approved, took her passport and said to wait 2-3 days for her visa and passport to be delivered. It's now the 20th and have heard nothing.

I went to the CEAC site and her status still says "READY," says she can set up an interview, finger prints, etc. However, her case date is updated to December 15,2016, the day after her interview.

What does this mean? Until the visa is physically in our hands, I will be stressed out. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

The status you should see before counting the 2-10 days for the visa to arrive is "ISSUED" - it means that the visa has been approved and will be mailed soon after that. If her status is still on ready, just be patient and wait for it to be on Issued.

Good luck :)

Oh, okay. So I'm guessing there is no concrete way to predict how long the CEAC process will take?

And follow up question: Her case update date was changed to today (December 20,2016) but it still says "Ready." Is this normal?

Thank you for the information!

This happened to mine too and there are so many posts on here about that status. Some people's have gone into administrative processing, then back to ready, then to issued. It seems to jump all over the place.

If it is being mailed back please also bear in mind the mail at this time of year.

My case was in London so will possibly be different but I had my interview on the 8th December. It updated on the 9th and still said ready. I checked in on the Monday afternoon still said ready. Then on the Tuesday the 13th December it changed to Issued. I received the email to say it was on its way from the NVC on the 15th December and then it arrived at my house on Friday the 16th December. So 1 week basically.

I have heard some peoples have taken a lot longer than a week so please don't panic if it takes two. At my interview they told me it would be 2 weeks before I received it back.

Stay positive and try not to stress out. It will come :)

When both dates are updated (case creation and case update) and it's changed from immigrant to non-immigrant it means it's been moved from the visa consular section to the issuing section and entered into that system... congratulations, if that is the case your visa is about to be issued :)

(It will go through AP before issuing which you may or may not see depending on how fast it goes, usually this AP is short and many ppl never notice this change)

The Case Creation and Status Updated date were changed to December 15, 2016 (day after interview). Just yesterday the Status Update date was changed to December 20, 2016 while the Case Creation Date stayed the same. Also, it says it's a non-immigrant visa application even though I have to select IV to do the check.

I hope these are all positive signs!

Thank you all! Ill start breathing a little easier once I see a change!

Hi. The same thing happened to my fiance and we are still waiting. This is at the Jerusalem Consulate. After he gave them everything on November 15th they called him and told him he would have the visa in 2-3 days. we are still waiting. The CEAC status changed from Ready to Admin Processing back to Ready and now Issued. But still no visa. I am going to email them today. But this is so frustrating and putting such a strain on the relationship.

They are good signs :) I know it's the final stretch and you just want it in your hands but hang in there! It's moved on to be issued...

After it is issued it is a delivery issue... mine actually took a while to leave the embassy... I emailed them cus didn't get my tracking info (I know some embassies you pick up and others you have it delivered and at mine it's delivered) there's just quite a few steps and ppl are starting to go on holiday and such... it's hard but patience! :) much lucK to u :)

Update: today the status was changed to "administrative processing." I'm assuming that's a good thing!? At the interview they didn't ask for any other paperwork/information.

This has been terribly stressful on both of us and while yes, it has tested our resolve and relationship at times, we pushed through.

Hope to see "Issued" soon!

I really wanted my visa in my hand but I figured there was no point in stressing about something that I can't change. They said 2 weeks to me so I thought well I'll wait the 2 weeks and if nothing has changed and it has not arrived then I will start emails or phone calls to check. I checked it a couple of times and then when it said issued only 2 business days later I just waiting for the email to say it will be delivered.

The more you check it and concentrate on it the more you stress out.

They said approved so unless they send you an email requesting more information then surely you are just better waiting for it to arrive.

I am a complete stress head when it comes to waiting or not knowing whats going on but I truly think to not check it every day or every hour is a better option. Don't forget nothing happens with it over weekends either.

We are in the same boat. It's very stressful, but we've tried calling & emailing and all they tell is is keep waiting.

My fiance had her interview on Dec 8th in Manila. Was told she was approved - didn't need other forms etc.

It's now Dec 22nd, and our status still says Ready for Interview.

We had prayed & talked all year about spending Christmas together. This is now no longer a possibility that we have both accepted. We just really are hoping it comes soon so we can be together. It's scary to see everyone elses change and your status still only says Ready for Interview and looks like you never even went to the interview
