our case was denied with no reason at the embassy of ACCRA,GHANA in late Oct. Well i looked on the website for status and it still says administrative process however the status update date has changed to a more current date. does that mean it has reached the USCIS? or could it have been because i emailed the embassy of the reason for denial and they responded with reason, but no details.

BEST WISHES (L)(F)(L)

I think it may have been due to the email. I think every time they have correspondence with the petitioner/beneficiary or senators it logs on the site or they document it because the file is "touched".... Others can chime in on this but from what I've seen it takes at minimum for 6 months for them to return the case. They sit on it for a long time for whatever reason.

You can check it on the uscis website with the case # from uscis and also sign up for case update text message, they will alert you when they received your case, that's what I did with ours. Our have been with them since April this year and we were refuse visa in November 2015, still waiting for our noir or reaffirm, I went to the office, to enquire about our case two days later they sent me an email that they don't have any timeframe for return case's but they are working to clear the workload. May God help us with this heart wrecking process.

Hi, in this part of the process it's mostly waiting, they say it takes 180 days to review your returned petition, there is basically nothing anyone can do to speed it up, and what slow it even more really depends on if they are behind on processing them so from most of the post I see it a little more than a year for a response, but I'm signed up for text and email alerts, you should create an account on uscis if you haven't, and then sign up for email and text alerts, so you'll know soon as they do anything on your case, as always good luck!

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).
