I just don't know if this rule still stands but if you bring laptops more than your personal one or what you own; or any electronic device at that matter. If they are unboxed or brand new, they will charge you for taxes on those electronic devices. When me and my parents went back home from England last year, my dad bought a laptop which he just used while we were overseas and we were charged for the taxes of it.

We declared it as something we bought outside Phil, so probably that is why they charged us.

I am not sure but its better to check on their website about this rules, customs can be a little tricky sometimes. Good luck :)

This is the Philippines. You know they make the rules as they go along. No one can give you a definitive answer as no one knows 100%. It's a ####### shoot at best. Good luck.

Leaving for Philippines in a couple of days was wondering if customs will actually check bags this time since Durete has declared war on drugs??

I'm taking 3 laptops and other electronics just don't want to be caught off guard.

Arrived Friday night. Go through the NOTHING TO DECLARE line... no issues.

We brought a laptop, two smart phones and four tabets... plus other electronics.

TSA is the biggest PIA if you are bringing them in carry-on as they all have to be removed and put single layer in the trays Unless you sign-up for pre-screen online they you do the express line and don't have to do that krap

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

I have not heard anything different about entering Philppines since Duterte took office. I have brought in mulitiple laptops/ cell phones before and after Duterte and I have notice no difference.

If you are a aware with Duterte his policy is against criminal activity in general.

I too always go through the Nothing to Declare line. Nobody even looked my way the four times I've been there.

I have had some guys make comments like why do you have so many phones and then they ask if they can have one of them. This is usually at Terminal 3 in Manila.
