I filed for my wife in February 2015. It took seven weeks to get her I-130 approved then off to the NVC. Now we are processing for her six year old daughter. It has been six weeks since we sent in the I-130. I have heard nothing, so I called them. I was told by the representative that it will take five months at the Potomac UCIS. This seems a bit odd. From seven weeks to five months. Is anyone else experiencing the same hold up. Because if this is true, five months wait then another two or three at the NVC. And an additional month or so for the interview. We are filing to bring her here from the Philippines.

Customer reps would tell you exactly what the processing time estimation is on uscis website. Unfortunately, they are not super helpful on that unless your priority date has passed what they are currently processing then they will submit an inquiry. Before then, they really don't care.

I have seen some cases from Philippines getting approved the quickest, so stay tuned

well 5 months is the average waiting time for I-130 to be approved I believe. My I-130 was sent to the Potomac service center this past January and they approved my case super fast as it (Potomac service center) was still fairly new. Now they are sending a lot of their backlogged things there to ease the burdens on other service centers.

Ours has been sitting at Potomac since end of September. Not moving much at all.

I would like to know if there is a reason for the huge delay (compared to the others) on processing time for I-130 at Potomac SC? Thanks.
