Advice to help my friend get a B2 Visa for vacation with me

So my friend lives in the Dominican Republic, he's 30 years old. Unfortunately he doesn't have a job, so he doesn't own property, or have significant assets. But he does have a daughter there and he definitely plans on coming back to the Dominican Republic, he has a Dominican Passport..... But based on what I've said I'm sure his chances would be slim to none for getting approved for a B2 Visa.

Is there anything that we can do to get an approval? Is there anyway that I can sponsor him?

I have a clean record (no criminal offenses or even any parking tickets) I make over 100k a year in a very reliable civilian (non-military) job. I'm also a global entry participant, I have zero debt and multiple college degrees. I can prove that I can pay for his stay and make sure that I have a return ticket for him.

Based on my civilian job, I could get fired if he doesn't return, so I can guarantee that he will be returning back to his country....any advice/help.....I would greatly appreciate it.

Although your record, your job, your salary, your education, and your lack of debt is exemplary, it has zero impact on your friend's case.

Your friend must qualify on his own. Is it possible for him to get a job with a start date AFTER the trip? Perhaps a letter from his daughter's school indicating that he is an active parent?

Good luck

But I've heard that Americans can sponsor others on a B2 Visa.

I think you have misunderstood, how could you possibly get fired for something you have absolutely no control over. How would your Employer know anyway?

That's not the official US consulate website or USCIS site.

See this official website:

Is your friend your boyfriend?

There is NO official sponsorship of a tourist visa. It is one of the most misconceptions related to immigration. Many websites sale that information to lure people to buy services (invitation letters, application completions, etc).

Your status will not have any impact on her case. She has to prove on her one.

Note: Have a significant other could actually hurt her case.

Sounds like you are trying too hard for someone who is 'just a friend'. If you were to send information on all of what you mentioned (your job, your degrees, your debt-free life) then it would probably be even harder for 'your friend'. People leave children behind to immigrate. It happens more often than you think - have a look around this site to see how many threads there are on it. So the CO at the interview is likely to be unimpressed by that.

The way it will be seen is - there is someone in the US who is bending over backwards to get them into the country, even making claims that he will lose his job (surely not!) if the visitor does not leave, who earns more than enough to support the individual and is more than a friend. Why would he go back to a life with no job, property assets or money?

Ignore the innuendos of the form of your relationship with your friend. It's already been pointed out that your own current situation has little to no bearing on your DR friend being able to obtain a B2 visa.

He/she has to be assessed on their own individual merit, having no employment would suggest they might not have enough savings for their tourist trip so you can obviously see where the red flags are raised.

It may seem unfair that a seemingly innocent request to have a friend come over to spend time in your country with you is so frowned upon even if you are the wealthy benefactor willing to pay for the majority of the expenses but unfortunately the system just doesn't work that way.

Take some thought as to how your friend can establish strong ties to their home country.

Is there anything that we can do to get an approval? Is there anyway that I can sponsor him? No such thing as a sponsor for a tourist visa.

I'm also a global entry participant, I have zero debt and multiple college degrees. I can prove that I can pay for his stay and make sure that I have a return ticket for him. How does you debt or degree matter to another person's tourist visa prospect?
