Alternate to a lawyer for forms assistance

I need help with understanding and filling I-864 related forms. I am considering having the forms filled by a professional. However, I am hesitant to go to a lawyer due to their high fees. Are there other consultants or people who can help me understand and fill the forms with me for a reasonable fee? I am looking for someone in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, or Washington area. How do I go about searching for them?

I'm doing these forms as well. The lawyer wanted 3,500 to do all the forms that go along with the I-485 and I-130. I think we are deciding to do it on our own. What exactly do you need help on with that form?

You can always ask here if you need some help, I filled out everything and prepared our packets as well. Then we got approved without RFE or anything. There are plenty of examples as well on google, forms that are filled out already for referrence. You can do it. Lawyers just want your money.

So, my wife wants to sponsor her parents and filed petition I-130. For income, we provided them with I-864 for my wife and I-864 A for myself since my wife's income alone did not meet the minimum income requirement. Our combined income is above the minimum income requirement. However, when my in-laws went to the embassy for their interview, they were told that the income does not meet minimum requirement and they would need to add a joint sponsor. Therefore, I wanted to talk to someone who handles similar cases to discuss why the interviewer would have said this?

I would think that if we didn't meet the minimum income requirement, my in-laws wouldn't even had received the interview until we provided them with sufficient evidence showing we meet their minimum requirement.

Any thoughts?

An interview is still scheduled, even though one might not meet the requirements. That's determined at the interview.

How many people are you in the household, including any children who may not live in the home, and what's your combined income?

People here would be more then willing to discuss it with you for free... You do have to provide some info though. You do not have to give the exact numbers but rough numbers so not $5,456.32 but 5,400. How many people, ages, what kind of work(self employed/seasonal) stable or not, how many years etc. They look at both the math and the overall picture of stability. Any relevant info will help.
