I just got Nebraska, too. Is the process really so much slower that way?

I've been stuck living abroad for more than 12 years now, so I guess a bit of extra time here won't kill me. The timing of our move will be tricky either way.

Does that email with the subject USCIS Acceptance Confirmation count as NOA1? I'm still trying to figure out all the stages in this wacky process.

Yeah,Nebraska is one of the slowest..like 5 months waiting time till NOA2.

I am living abroad as well. In Germany to be exact. I am a lil impatient but it won't kill me either..lol..I still have a lot of things to take care of here so it will keep me busy.

Yes,the E-Mail is Noa1.

I am also living abroad, 2 years. We actually dont have things to take care of, we could leave next month. Thats what makes it even worse.. we are literally just sitting around waiting.

Im thinking about starting a forum topic for all USC living abroad that got Nebraska. They have one for all USC living abroad, but less than 5-10% get Nebraska. Looking at that forum is dressing because almost everyone else got California and their NOA2 in less than a month.

Or they all got Texas..which i was hoping to get..lol..Well i am the beneficiary living abroad. My husband lives in the States. So waiting here by myself is what's makes the waiting game hard. Otherwise it wouldn't bother me too much.

Well then I guess you guys fall under the normal situation. There are some of us that have been living abroad with our spouse, and filed from abroad. Those are the ones that usually go to California and get an autoexpedite... but the ones that go to Nebraska dont usually.

I know what you mean. Regarding to all the timelines of people from my country where sent to Texas or at least got transfered to Texas after a couple of months.

I don't know if there even is a system behind all that or just a stone, paper, scissors kinda of game where they sent petitions to. Let's just hope for the best.

Happy to join in the fun here as another recently filed I-130! We sent it away from here on Nov 16, and the tracking shows it still waiting for clearance in LA so hopefully it arrives in Chicago soon!

Hi Lucky -- so to answer your question, historically the centers were set up geographically and where you go depends on where the USC lives in the US and/or what kind of visa you're applying for (there are certain ones that only Vermont does, for example). The country of the foreign spouse doesn't play a role.

For example, if the USC lives in a southern state of the US you will get sent to Texas, whereas if you live on the west coast (California, Oregon, etc.) you will be sent to California Service Center. This pattern has seemed to hold up pretty well for those in my VJ i-130 group. I live in Virginia and our case was sent to Texas.

All this being said - there are exceptions and they will send people to different centers depending on current caseload.. so in that sense it can be very random!!

I am not sure what, if any, pattern there is for couples who reside together overseas and file from abroad.

Thank you for the information Misshepburn.☺

I was reading that as well. I think whatever the criteria is for them we have to deal with it either way. As long as we will make it i won't complain..lol

I was just wondering about it.
