Hi there,

I just wanted to ask if any of you guys here knows the requirements for NCLEX-PN in California.I'm a license nurse in the Philippines but as what I've know CA will no longer accept foreign nurses by this time. With all of those, I opted to make a second choice which is LVN instead. And my concerns are, do I have to take classes or other subjects for me to become eligible? How long would it take just in case? What would be the requirements? Actually, I'm a k1 visa holder and I'm still here in Philippines right now, I'm seeking your help guys as part of preparation for my stay in CA soon.

Your ideas and help will be much appreciated.

Thank you for taking your time to read.

You can go to the California State board of nursing and look into their requirements for licensing, I live in WA so I'm not sure if it's the same. You just need to have an approved college that is accredited I think.

California is still taking apps. In USA you only need a 2 year education from a community college to be able to sit for NCLEX to be a RN. One year education for LPN.

California was looking a transcripts and some students were lacking certain classes and not allowing them to sit for RN, so they were applying for LPN. They have some schools around that will allow you to make up what you are missing in USA.

Best bet is to submit application to the California Board of Nursing and let them review it. Please be aware the Califronia Board of Nursing is still in a free fall after the Governor fired almost all the board a few years ago for allowing nurses with drug charges, criminal charges to keep on practicing and not protecting the people of California..
