Hi, just received a vaccination RFE and I’m sending my Congressman the below, hoping he can sort it out. If anyone has experience on this please let me know! :clock:

I am the sponsoring for my wife to obtain the Green Card thru the Adjustment of Status process. Today I received a Request for Evidence letter for my I-485 (Application to Adjust Status). The letter states that I have submitted form I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record), and it is incomplete. As a result, my wife must get a vaccination certification from an USCIS Civil Surgeon and the deadline to submit a response is 12/5/2016; otherwise my application would be denied.

The issue is that I have never submitted form I-693 before. In my submission of form I-485 on 6/13/2016, a vaccination record/supplement performed on 11/26/2015 was submitted per form I-485’s instructions. This is section 7, part C where it states “Fiancé(e)s: If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your Form I-485.” Note that my wife had the medical exam in her home country at the time of K-1 visa with the vaccination supplement included.

Therefore, a vaccination record should already be in USCIS file for my case. Is there any way to get this sorted out as soon as possible please? I’d like to know whether or not my wife must go thru the process of getting a vaccination record again and if so, why that is necessary.

You can either print out the instructions and provide another copy of your DS-3025, IF you are positive all required vaccinations were complete and marked off properly on the DS-3025, or take the DS-3025 to a civil surgeon and get the vaccinations transcribed onto an I-693 to satisfy the RFE.

Not really sure what the Congressperson can do here. The I693 was sent from the POE to your local office and matched up with your file. It appears that they think the vaccination record is incomplete, so you need to review it fully against the vaccination list in the pinned thread link that Pitaya provided, and respond to the RFE in time or you face the potential of abandoning the adjustment application which could cost you an additional filing fee. I know when my wife filed he AOS we scrutinized the 3025, and there was two vaccines missing (I don't know why), so we completed that prior to submitting.

Good Luck and let us know if you are able to get any help from your Congressperson.

Pitaya: Thank you. I haven't and it was a good read. Though I wanted to hear from personal experience if possible.

KayDeeCee: Thank you. I did make the mistake of not having a copy of the vaccination record (expired in 3 weeks) I submitted so looks like I don't have a choice but go thru the civil surgeon. That means I have to submit I-693 I think (did not need to before due to vaccination being done at the K-1 visa stage), even though at this point USCIS is only asking for the vaccination certification.

Bill & Katya: Thank you. I read on a thread that someone did get help for their Congressperson, so I thought I'd give that a try. Not likely to work for me though. Any idea how long it'll take dealing with a civil surgeon? I only have less than 4 weeks to act.

For us it took about 10 days to get everything done and get a complete new I693 and G3025, but we were not in a big hurry. Here is a thread regarding civil surgeons that may be helpful to you.
