Yup! The bright side is that you can still apply for citizenship next year at this time, even with a pending ROC (which will then need to be adjudicated).

Is it worth the trouble to adjust the pending ROC? Seems easier to me if you just wait for the final approval then apply for citizenship. However, definitely before the next presidential election

I have read here on VJ that it basically "forces" USCIS to issue a decision (which is needed for the N400 step).

So yeah, if you're stuck in the VSC/CSC purgatory, I would say it is definitely worth it. Also, unless you have no plans to become a US citizen in the immediate future, why delay it when we're given the opportunity to apply within that time frame (provided all other requirements are also satisfied)?

Hi guys! I technically filed in October, but late enough that I feel this may be more appropriate thread. We mailed out I-751 out on 10/26 and it was confirmed delivered on 10/28 to CSC. Check still hasn't been cashed and no NOA1 in the mail yet :/ I know it's only been two weeks, but we've got the jitters as we stupidly waited until last minute to file before my GC expired on 11/5/16. How long should I wait until I contact USCIS?

The stats for Cali SC looks to be of an avg of 5 days to get first NOA. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/liftstats.php?cfl=

I, personally would contact USCIS since it is out of the ordinary. Just to check if everything is OK or if they have received it (or the correct department has received it). As you can see the other CSC filers have received their NOA. But then again, that is just me

That is a long time for them not to have cashed the check.. I would call them and find out what is going on.
