Guys, I can't believe it but our cas was approved! I got so emotional, I am crying now... It was 94-days wait.

On a more pessimistic note: none of other cases from 10/18 got anything, but their WAC### come after mine. So, maybe adjudicators do work on the cases by order?

Congratulations! We are all so happy for you. Your relationship is stronger for having to waiting for 94 days. What torture? But you made it. Here's hoping the rest of us comrades don't have to wait as long. Definitely keep us posted on your journey. ?

Searched WAC1790043558-50558

Found 14 (included mountainsea's search) approvals for January 18.

I didn't count the RFEs anymore...but there were quite a handful.

So nice to see progress ?

If your IP gets locked out of the app (because of the amount of searches you've made), you can use the VPN app to make you look like you have a new IP and thus enable you to make searches on the app again. :P

Yup. That said, coming from a guy that designs IT systems for large government agencies like USCIS...please don't go overboard. Those limits are in place to avoid putting too much stress on their systems. The apps aren't doing a "nice" query to USCIS to get the data....they're literally just querying each & every number in a range and extracting the data from their website. We don't want to raise concerns that then gets the service restricted. :)

And yes, I've been put on the IP ban myself, and do plenty of searches too. Just don't go crazy. :P

Forgot to let the group know I also received a response.
I do not plan to pursue this further at this time. If no NOA 2 by end of January then I will give it a shot.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for contacting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (Ombudsman’s Office).

You may submit a case problem online through Form DHS-7001 to the Ombudsman’s Office.  If you currently have a case pending with the Ombudsman’s Office and have already submitted your case online, you will receive a separate email acknowledging your case submission and addressing your question. If you have not submitted a Form DHS-7001, Case Assistance Form, or you have not submitted your case online, we will not respond to this email.  Please see our website for additional information about your case submission.

Please note the Ombudsman’s Office is independent of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Our statutory mission is to assist individuals and employers who experience problems when filing applications or petitions with USCIS.  If you have a legal question, you should seek an experienced immigration legal service provider.  Please see below for a list of Frequently Asked Questions, including information about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Department of State.

Please do not reply to this message.

Sincerely,

The Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Washington, DC 20528-0180

Email: cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov

Web: www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman

/tp

How do I request help from the Ombudsman’s Office?

The Ombudsman’s Office helps individuals and employers who have applications or petitions pending with USCIS and wish to resolve a problem associated with that application or petition.  Before contacting the Ombudsman for help, we encourage you to first try to resolve your problem by using one or more of the various USCIS customer service options, including but not limited to:  calling  the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283, or scheduling  an INFOPASS appointment with USCIS online or in your local USCIS office

USCIS has also recently made improvements to their customer service options by allowing customers to inquire electronically about filings with USCIS through e-Request, track the mailing and delivery of USCIS-produced cards and documents through their Secure Mail Initiative, and by expanding National Customer Service Center call hours.  For more information, visit the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov.  If you already have attempted to resolve your issue with USCIS and would like our office to review the issue, please submit a request for help from our office.

Immigration-Related Questions

The Ombudsman’s Office is limited to assisting individuals who are experiencing difficulties connected with applications or petitions pending with USCIS.  Often individuals have questions regarding immigration issues that fall under the authority of other components within DHS or the authority of other agencies of the U.S. government.

Although we cannot assist in matters that do not directly involve USCIS, we hope the following information is helpful. This information addresses some frequently asked questions that may involve other components of DHS and the Department of State:

what no passport yet?

That the heck were you waiting for LOL

That was 1st thing that should be done.

No passport means no where to put the visa and if their are delays getting a passport that could be an issue.

Glad it will be there in 3 weeks hoping you have NOA 2 by that time as well or much sooner.

Jim

Jim,

I didn't know when we were going to need it, and how long it took to get.  He made it seem like it just took a couple weeks and that we just needed to stand in line for a couple hours.  I wanted to go with him when I was there in December, but for some reason we thought it would be better if waited till we knew we were approved.  I'm not sure why, but I think he just tries to be respectful of costs.  It's about $100 USD which is a LOT for him.  And I try to be respectful of his wishes too.  So, it was more of a song and dance thing we were doing as a couple, than it was a practicality of what made sense, if that makes any sense.

We make our mistakes as a couple and learn as a couple, so in the end it was a learning experience.  ;)

But honestly, I've never done this before so I don't know the best way of doing this.

That's why I'm here seeing what other folks are doing.  It seems to help me feel sane and if I can help others through my mistakes, then it's worth it.  :content:

Here is the website I read about the DS-160 for our Cuba k-1:  http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cu/cu-iv-visaapply.asp

Ok, thank you!

I haven't seen that page yet.  Are you starting yours now and then just updating every once in a while to keep it current?  So it doesn't expire or close after 30 days?

I wonder how long one can keep a DS-160 app open?  indefinitely?

Thanks for the tip!

I started ours now but I saved it and closed it until I get the rest of the information from him. You can log in using the application Id that will appear on the top right side of the page. Jim said the application is deleted if you haven updated in 30 days and it's not being submitted yet, so i'll go in everyone week 1/2 just in case until I finish it. I will have to keep reading to see if its ok for me to submitted it at anytime, of it has to be within a certain timeframe before the interview.

When you go back to log in, put the country, and the code it shows below, and then press "Retrieve an application. You put the application id, and answer a security question you will be doing at the beginning of the application.
