Thanks you Mellyboo,

I see you just sent in your RFE response.

Please make a copy of the letter they sent you just in case they or the USPS loses your reply.

Once they get it you should be approved in 1 to 2 weeks on average.

Congrats you are almost done with stage 1.

Then NVC and Embassy after that.

Jim

Thanks I did make a copy of everything lol! I am very cautious when it comes to immigration because of their known track record to lose things. I also paid for overnight mail and signature request lol! But thanks for the heads up maybe your response can help others whenever they run into this problem.

(L) God please bless us all (L)

Forena

Welcome aboard.

You will not get a text unless you sent in the form to request one.

You will get a paper in the mail NOA 1 - notice of action 1 in about 2 weeks from when you sent the packet.

Did you send it with delivery confirmation or tracking of some sort?

Side note

You may want to update you VJ Timeline

Service Center : Texas Service Center Transferred? No Consulate : Armenia I-129F Sent : 2016-11-01

Texas is just the mail drop/lock box location.

You case will actually be worked out of CSC - Cali

Also you may want to update your Consulate to what ever country he/she is from.

Unless they are actually fro "Armenia"

Questions just ask. We are all here to help.

I think the vast majority (but not all) here have met on-line.

Congrats on your Hard Copy NOA 1

Our delivered to Dallas lock-box date is the same.

I'll have to check my mailbox here soon. Maybe a surprise waiting hmmmm..

Yes this seems to be slow time of year for USCIS which gets the cases out the door quicker.

Hi, looks like there are two apps for iphone, neither are made by USCIS. Which one do people use? USCIS Case Status & Visa Tracker (by SPINACH) or USCIS Case Tracker & Searcher (by Stephen Aldous). Both are free. Are these the ones that people are using to keep track through their phone?

Also, I won't be able to use these apps until I receive a case number, correct? I can't add a case without the case number...

Thx,

Hello IIaz AKA Jamie and Daniel, Welcome aboard!

I assume you are Jamie and you petitioned a different person before. What country was she from and did you do K-1 or CR-1 (spousal)

Either way don't worry as long as you have all your required documents in you will both be fine.

On a separate note you may want to update your VJ timeline to show that the service center is California.

Texas is just a mail stop. They forward 99.9% of the I-129F's to Cali and it is not considered as transfer.

Sorry I'm a bit OCD. obsessive compulsive but that is a good thing here LOL

Oh and unless your lady is from Armenia you can change that part on your VJ timeline as well if you want.

K1 Visa Event Date Service Center : Texas Service Center Transferred? No Consulate : Armenia I-129F Sent : 2016-11-01

Should Say

Service Center: Califorina Service Center

Consulate: what ever country she is from - there is a drop down list.

Jim

Yes I am Jaime and I petitioned for a different person before. He was from Chile as well and we did a K1 visa. I annulled our marriage though the State Court because at 9 months he asked me for a divorce, after becoming a totally different person once we married, and then told me he would "pay me for all of my troubles and for the green card".

My current fiancee and I have known each other for 7 years and have been together for 1.5 years now. The only thing I worry about is my fiancee just got his divorce (its a 3 year process in Chile and even though they broke it off in 2006 no one did the paperwork till 2013) and my state has a 6 month waiting period for ANYONE that had a divorce sentence no matter where in the world it was. I know the likelihood of us getting denied is high, but I am hoping that maybe we have a bit of hope in all of this and it will go through. We haven't been together since July and I want him to be here soon! If it doesn't work, we are looking into me going to Chile for a while then applying for the K1 after the 6 month waiting period while I wait in Chile with him.

Oh yes, I was planning on doing that when I received the NOA1 :):clock: A bit OCD is a good thing in this process! haha. Thats funny, I never realized that it said Armenia, I will change that now!

The one by USCIS is called "Case Tracker" yes free and you can use your phone. Mine would not recognize my I-129F case number ever since I got it via Text and email however today (about 20 minutes ago) I check the regular mail out side and guess what was there? The Hard Copy NOA1.

So right away I input the WAC# into Case tracker and it found it.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jamie, Thanks for your reply.

Well a couple of things the USCIS doesn't care what your state laws are. They go by federal law. As long as you are legally annulled and he is legally divorced in Chile and can provide evidence that he was PRIOR to the date that you filed and signed the I-129F petition then I don't see a problem. What is the 6 month waiting period? It means someone has to wait 6 months after they are divorced before marrying again?

Even if this was the case you can expect minimum 3 months for the K-1 and then when he is here you have another 3 months to get married so that would be 6 months. I'm not really sure I understand what the 6 months is all about though for you concern.

Anyway hang in there. Welcome to the board.

Everytime I go look at my timeline to edit it. It seems to default back to Armenia.

Thanks JimJesDuna!

You've been really helpful. I have the "correct" app on my phone now, but I won't be able to use it until I get the case number, which by your timeline, will be a week or two?

Also, I think I changed the consulate to be blank and not say Armenia. Thanks for letting me know. My consulate will probably be the one in Havana, Cuba, but that wasn't an option on the list....hmmmm.

Thanks again for your help!

No problem. We are all here to help and encourage one another. Your consulate is just "Cuba" it is there alphabetically unlike some countries.
