Hello,

I've file my AOS, EAS, AP on July 5th and since then there has been quite few issues of delay. Unlike the usual, my biometrics appointment is a lot later than the normal and is scheduled to October 27th after struggle trying to get the appointment made.

Anyways, my question is how long should I expect to wait to get the EAD after the biometrics appointment?

I was hoping to be able to work in retail in holiday season to start off my resume but do you think it'll take longer? and am I able to at least apply for jobs at the time to start when it gets here?

We really need the money so the delay is sure very inconvenient. I'm sitting in home all day instead of helping out with expenses.

thank you in advance for responding :)

You got an AP but not an EAD? Did you get an old-style paper AP and not a combo-card?

The can approve EAD without biometrics.

If you just do the appointment I'd expect the EAD to be approved shortly thereafter (like in days).

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Yes, I only got the AP document. It was not a combo card sadly. I was not aware EAD is possible to be approved without biometrics.

I sure hope it is only days after the appointment as it'd help a lot. waiting is not fun. have to try to be more patient I guess.

I am kind of in your shoes. My AP was approved on 10/12 just like yours but I have not received any update on EAD, nor receive the actual paper document for AP. (just the approval notice)

It's so annoying as I need my EAD more than AP since I don't plan on leaving the US anytime soon.

I did my biometrics August 19.
