NOA2 - will it be delivered electronically as well?

I am currently overseas in my spouse's home country and I, unfortunately, followed the advice of some one on this forum and put our current residence address on the forms (we are in Ethiopia) and was under the impression I could change the mailing address once we were in the system. Well, not so simple! The online form is only if you have "moved" and I can't get anyone on the line at the USICS phone number who has the ability to change mailing addresses.

I attached a g-1145 so I got my NOA1 electronically and our file was sent to the Nebraska Service Center. However...will our NOA2 also be sent electronically? If not, how will I ever know if we were approved?

This is a mess and I wish I never put our Ethiopia address on the forms! Other users filing from overseas, beware! Changing your address once you are in the system is not that easy.

I found it extremely easy to change...just logged in and updated the address. Literally did nothing else. Got an email confirming the change and all documents went to the correct address. I never called or had contact with anyone, what is the issue you're having?

No including the G1145 does not ensure you will get electronically notified. I included it and got notified for the NOA1 but I did not get notified for anything else.

Create an account on uscis and just change it. It's very simple, lawyers complicate matters.

I wish people would stop saying this as it is very misleading. This is what someone on this forum told me and this is why I put my Ethiopian residential address on the forms. You can ONLY change your address online if it was a US address previously and you are changing it to another US address. The form requires a zip code which Ethiopia and many foreign addresses DO NOT have and the form will not let you submit it without entering a zip code. Secondly, the form is for chaining your address if you have MOVED. I have not moved. I simply want to change my mailing address so that I can receive hard copies of subsequent notifications at my US residential and mailing address. This can not be done online and it can not be done talking to customer service at USICS.

Well I hope this is the case for us. Some people are saying the only got NOA1 electronically and nothing after that. This is so frustrating. I don't know why the customer service reps at USCIS can't change the mailing address...or why the online form doesn't allow for one changing from a foreign address to a US address.

Hi,

So, I tried to email the service center my case was forwarded to and got an automated response saying the following:

You will receive a response from the NSC, Follow-Up email address if your inquiry meets the following criteria:

You have previously submitted the inquiry on the USCIS website https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do or by calling the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283 which generated a Referral ID number AND:

1. you did not receive any response within 30 days; OR

2. you are submitting supporting documentation for an expedited processing request.

You included your Referral ID number (see above).

● Your inquiry regards a case located at the NSC and you are the petitioner / applicant or the G-28 attorney / accredited representative of record.

You included your first and last name as well as the USCIS Receipt Number(s) and/or A-number associated with the case you are inquiring about.

For inquiries that don’t meet the criteria listed above, including new inquiries or questions or concerns with a previously submitted inquiry or response to an inquiry, please submit using the USCIS websitehttps://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do or call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283.

When I went to the USCIS main site that this automated reply directs you to there are limited options. One of them that could fit under my inquiry is "did not receive notice by mail" so I chose that and when I tried to submit the inquiry it said that it wouldn't allow me to until it's been more than 30 days from when I should have received it...So I guess I'll wait and try that?

This is crazy. I have a PhD and I find this whole process to be unnecessarily and insanely byzantine...

Please address the first question.

Yes. Ethiopia has no residential mailing system and we don't have a PO box listed with the USCIS. I made a myUSCIS account. So, I'm assuming anything relevant to our case will appear here? The thing is, since I am in Ethiopia, the internet is frequently down or not functioning properly. Often US immigration websites don't work properly here. That's why I was wondering if the NOA2 will be sent via mobil text because I have put a relative's mobile number on the g-1145 and they received the NOA1 text and was able to call me and let me know.
