police cert 3 month valid ?

my fiance got her police cert early and its valid for 3 months , we plan on interviewing in December so we should be fine , but im seeing info on the embassy website and on the k1 packet(updated 4/2016) contradicting, the site says the report has to be valid to travel and its valid for a year . But the k1 packet just says the report must of been issued within a year ago and thats it

can anyone clarify?

I read it's valid for one year after the interview but not more than 3months b4 the interview. Maybe I'm wrong but why in a hurry since your interview is in December? She can get it the same day in Nigeria. Just to be on the safe side I would think 3 months is okay.

I submitted mine one month after I got it. The problem is its stated there valid for 3 month only but I will still use mine for AOS. Fingers crossed. If the 3 months validity is over before her interview ,I would advice she makes a new one. You never know who wakes up from the wrong side of the bed. Good luck

its is valid for one year and should be valid when you're traveling, so go get it asap,I got mine in august

It's usually advisable to get the Police report closer to your interview.

The thing is the 3 months is for submission. For Married folk going through NVC long as its sent in before expiry you are cool. For K1 like you, long as it hasn't expired before interview..

And then its good for a year for travel purposes. But you never need it again.

Get a new one for interview Just to be safe.

got it if the one we got expires near her interview well get a new one
