Interview paperwork prep

We got our instructions from the embassy in Dakar, Senegal. (YAYYY)

I have a few questions on the paperwork prep as the petitioner helping out my beneficiary...

1. Does anyone know what this second fee is? 200 CFA is like a dollar. Maybe just a bank transaction fee?

"You will need to pay the $US265.00 K-1 visa fee and the 200 FCFA “timbre fiscal” fee to the SGBS bank in Senegal."

2. Can we use the same passport photo for him that we did for the I-129F that I have saved as a jpeg?

3. He has committed no police crimes so he should go to the two places he's lived anyway and get some sort of documentation (police report) which would say?? No file on record? I don't get requesting a police report when you have had no crimes...

4. AOS 1-134: For income all I have are my wages, checking & savings accounts. Should I attach my tax return to prove income? Should I have an employer letter attached? I made a smidge above the 100% at $16,792, so should I get a joint sponsor or is that later at the adjustment of status? I could attach a letter from my new 2nd job to show from here forward I will be much more above that guideline (even 125% for the I-864) but I heard they want to see what you have earned, not what you will earn?

My concern is, I know there are two opportunities to show income, is my $16,792 made last year enough for the interview? Or should I prepare more (add joint sponsor and/or proof of 2nd job)?

Hi Amie. I am almost close to where you are now. I just got the my case approved. Can you share your experience on what happened after the approval stage to your current stage. Did they mail you the instructions or?

Also, you (the petitioner) need a letter from your employer with the company letter head stating your commencement date and the amount you earn and if you're full or part time etc. Also you'll need pay stubs and a letter from your bank and maybe your statement. Confirm these things first but I believe that's what you need with regards to the affidavit of support. If it's a fiancée visa then the 100% is the requirement but considering that you guys will need to adjust your status one you get married which will be in a few months time, it'll add weight of you can hit the 125% mark. I don't think getting a copy sponsor will hurt either..

We emailed several times to the dakarimmigrant email and finally got a response after including our case number, type of visa, names/date of births in the subject and requesting info in the email with again, info, DOB, case number. (This time in French). Then we got the instructions finally the next day (after waiting a month!).

Oh wow! That's a bit hard. I got the approval last week so I think I shd wait awhile before contacting nvc to check if they got the file. But did the consulate email you the required documents or.? And do they give an interview date or otherwise. Thank you for the help! Appreciated.

After sending the Dakar embassy the right combo in the subject line (case number, visa type, both our full names and DOB) they responded. They sent the document for affidavit of support, medical exam instructions, and visa instructions.

Prepare the documents (police records, birth certificates, passport etc).

Have fiance fill out DS-160 at the CEAC online. Then you can fill out USVISA-info.com application (immigrant).

In Senegal they had us pay a fee to the SGBS bank. About a week later it registered with the USVisa-info application and then fiance could pick an interview date. So the app fee and interview date is connected to the USVisa-info app, which I don't believe you can fill out until you finish the DS-160...

That's where we're at now:)

Anyway does the petitioner get a letter from the nvc with details of the case number etc before proceeding with these steps or? Please advise because we received the approval for over 2 weeks now but haven't heard from them yet.

When you say approval, which stage are you referring to?

I sent my I-129F early May, received my NOA1 in late May, got my NOA2 in July...then I got a letter from the NVC in August 9th with a case number stating it was being sent out of the US to Senegal. Supposedly you're not supposed to contact anyone for about 2 weeks (or 30 days (?) So I got anxious once it was 4 weeks and hadn't heard back.

It went on 7 weeks before I sent that email to the Dakar embassy but I wish I started emailing earlier.

Did you do your visa payment while in senegal or? Because I am currently not in senegal. I was thinking scheduling a doctor's appointment and book an interview to do everything at close dates to avoid going and coming back if possible.

My fiance paid the fee in Senegal at the SGBS bank. (I'm in the US). I don't think you/the fiancé can pick an interview date until you the bank gets the fee...

And my fiance went to the doctor the week before the interview. I believe he called one of the three doctors to make an appointment and they said just come in.

I was just wondering if there is another way to pay it from Gambia or get someone to do the payment in Senegal for now and get the interview date first before going to Senegal. Otherwise i might have to go twice if I get a long interview date in between the payment and interview.

It'll be okay.. Sometimes it just has to take its course. But God willing everything will be okay. Just remain positive
