We've been trying to my wife's AOS and Green Card since February 2016. They keep saying they need more evidence. We even got a co-sponsor but evidently that's still not enough. What do we need to do? Please help.

Are they asking for more documents supporting the Affidavit of Support or are they asking for relationship evidence? If you provide us more details about the RFE you'll get better answers. If it's an RFE dealing with financial matters, contact the IRS and get your last three years of tax transcripts rather than sending your tax returns. You'll also want copies of your bank statements for 6 months, a letter from your employer, and pay stubs for at least a couple of months. Be sure to verify that you meet the poverty guidelines or get a Co sponsor. I'd also recommend reviewing the instructions for the affidavit to be sure you've included everything they require.

If it's relationship evidence, think of anything that shows you share bills, share property, share a bank account, co insurance, power of attorney. The stuff that is a pain to combine and even more of a pain to separate. That's the good evidence.

K-1 from Haiti - NOA1: 5/27/2014; NOA2: 7/8 USCIS never updated to say that it was sent to the NVC (just in case you're as concerned about your status not updating as I was about mine)
NVC Case Number Received: 7/31; Left NVC: 8/1 - tracked via DHL website; CEAC Status - Ready: 8/7; Packet 3 Received: 9/5 - Beneficiary received packet / Medical Completed: 9/19;
DS-160 Submitted: 9/22 - (CEAC date updated); Packet 3 Submitted: 9/26; Packet 4 Received: 10/24; Interview Date: 11/6 @ 7 am Interview Result: Approved!
CEAC Status Issued: 11/10; USTraveldocs.com finally acknowledged Fiance's passport actually in their system: 11/20; Passport Received: 11/21;

We provided our tax documents. That's all we sent. What else do we need to send?

A LOT MORE..

Joint lease/mortgage

utility bills showing both names

Insurance

Joint bank acct statements...

Among others. Basically all the proofs you can come up with proving the marriage was entered in good faith.

The more, the better. Some people (even) send a real heavy package containing all the evidence.

I suggest reading up and researching further on what you need to submit.

Did she have her interview and was asked to provide more or did you get a RFE in the mail concerning the affidavit of support ?

What do you mean they "keep saying" you need more. Keep saying means more than once.

It is extremely frustrating to guess and having to ask you all these basic questions with your meager information you provided in your

post and we are not mind readers.

Until you answer what the RFE said (if you received one) we can't be detailed as to what you need, either relationship evidence or

supporting evidence for the affidavit of support. Keep taking it lightly like you seem to do and they will deny you.

Elaborate in detail on what you were asked for.

Yep, no one can accurately help you if we have no idea what was asked of you at an interview, or through an RFE in the mail. So, what exactly was asked for? Details are more than helpful. We can't read minds through the internet and guess.

Ok, this is Request for Initial Evidence (I-485) for the joint sponsor. Must submit evidence of the joint sponsors status. We sent a copy of his birth certificate.

It also says that the joint sponsor must submit a complete Federal income tax return for the most recent Tax year. We sent the last three years to them.

That's all it has highlighted for the evidence that they need. Weven have already sent that to them, so what do we need to do?

They are asking for a complete tax return, so did you send a tax return copy or the official IRS tax transcripts which

has all schedules attached ?

If you did not send the transcript then that may be a problem.

Perhaps they lost the ones you had already submitted.

You said they "keep asking" so is this your first or second RFE ?

Then send it all again. Attach a note of what you send when and include it.

Read the RFE carefully to make sure you aren't missing anything that is printed and check marked besides the highlighted items.

My question is why should I have to resend it? They already have it all. We have done everything according to their rules and regulations. We have done everything the legal way. Why can't they honor that?

Because you are dealing with a bureaucratic entity and if you do not respond you would be denied.

It is not about what you think you should expect from them, it is either comply and be approved or don't comply and be denied.

Immigration is a difficult and often unfair process, it is what it is.
