Due to the Obama Administration’s effort encouraging immigrants to become U.S. citizens to “fully participate in civic life” and a desire to vote in the 2016 presidential election, the number of naturalization applications have increased substantially in recent months, according to the Migration Policy Institute.

According to a recent MPI report, during the first two quarters of fiscal year 2016 (October 2015 to March 2016) U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) received 440,000 applications for naturalization. The application level represented a 21 percent increase over the 365,000 applications submitted during the same timeframe in FY 2015.

Of course they are. They want the newly made citizens to vote for the Democrats, because they have put off the narrative that Republicans hate immigrants.

I'm one of those immigrants who has applied for citizenship recently. While I pay attention to politics, I don't remember hearing the Obama administration encourage immigrants to become citizens. My reason for applying for citizenship now, 7 years after becoming a permanent resident, is so that I can vote. We live in turbulent times, and I can't just sit back and watch.

I was going to become a US citizen eventually, and there are also other reasons for wanting to become a citizen. But wanting to vote is the reason I've applied to become one now instead of in a few years.

I think Trump did that all on his own without any help from our outgoing President.

Nik is our new lead on Trump!

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.
