I864 and joint sponsor(s)?

Hello, I am beginning to start work on the I-864 (It is giving me the biggest headache)...

To begin with, I'm a student so I had to get a joint sponsor, however, my joint sponsor is married and files his taxes jointly, so I don't know how to go about filing out the form. Does this mean that I will need to place 2 sponsors (him and his wife?) or can I just place him as co sponsor?

Also they have 2 kids, do the kids go on the as part of the household? on part 6 #3.

I'm not sure whos income goes in on there because they dont live in my household, i'm assuming its my household on my i864, and theres on their i864

One co-sponsor (who will fill out a second I-864 alongside yours), and then his wife will file the I-864A as they filed jointly.

Yes, his kids will count for his household, but not yours.

Ah alright, so I'll have 2 joint sponsors.

On my own I864, do people in my household go onto the form?

Do I need to place their income ( in house hold incomd )even though they are not going to sign off on anything ?

Not really; you have one co-sponsor, who has a wife.

Yes. However, living together doesn't mean they go on your form, it depends on you being financially tied. Who are you refering to with "people in your household? Ie do you mean minor kids, or elderly relatives who you are supporting and claiming on taxes? Or simply room mates? That will also affect the answer to your last question.

1) you have 1 joint sponsor who has a household member

2) Yes they need to count their children and the immigrant. They do not count you.

3) Your income on your I-864 and their income on their I-864. They don't count you, you don't count them. Both of you count the immigrant.

Just because he files jointly doesn't mean his wife has to do I-864A. If his own income is enough, then his wife's income doesn't need to be counted, and she doesn't need to do I-864A.

He may still need to. Some embassies really like to see an I-864a with an I-864. If they file jointly, it's not that hard to just submit the little bit of extra paperwork.
