Hello mates,

My category is F2A and my file is in progress with PD July, 15. My birth place is India and I am currently on a work permit in Canada. My question is where will my visa interview take place, in India or in Canada? In a nutshell do I need to travel back to India for an interview or medical or I can do that in Canada for the sake of convenience?

My next question is do I need to concern for Visa interview now? I heard that interviews are very detailed and specific, I can show them marriage album, but do I need to keep my call records? Is there any other thing that I need to track or record for the visa interview?

I appreciate your answers.

Regards,

Ronak

If you are still in Canada on a valid visa then you can opt to have your consulate interview in Canada. You'd need to advise NVC once your file is sent so they can assign the appropriate 'Canada' case number.

Yes, keep track of your relationship evidence with your spouse, such as, photos, proof of travel, chats, call logs, etc.

Teeak Thank you for replying, I already received NVC case number mentioning that they are not issuing Visa number currently and I have to wait to become cut-off date priority date. Is that too late? Can anything be done about it if so?

Ahh, okay. Do you think your work visa will still be valid when your PD is current and you will be eligible for a visa? If so, then yes, you can still let them know that you intend on interviewing in Canada and they will assign a new case number.

Yes, it will, in fact by the my PD become CD, I will be Permanent Resident of Canada, thank you very much Teeak for response.

Do you have any idea about how do I inform about change in interviewing location? Is there a separate form that I can send them to inform?

You can give NVC a call (603-334-0700) and let them know. They may ask for evidence as to why you qualify, at which point, they will might ask you to email a copy of your valid visa.
