Sent in missing police certificate, but six more weeks for Case Complete?

So, I was short two documents in the DS-260 application: police certificate and W2. The W2 I can bring to the interview, whenever that will be and the police certificate I needed to send to the NVC. My wife in Japan mailed the police certificate to them in order to complete the case and getting it sent over to the embassy for an interview.

I called the representative to confirm that they have received it, then he tells that it will take six more weeks to process for just one remaining document?

Previous representative that I called told me that once it's received the case is complete.

I'm getting conflicting feedback. Which is the truth? If it is six weeks, what I can do to expedite it?

The length of wait and other shenanigans that I've dealt with immigration is making me reconsider if I should move myself back to Japan and get a spouse visa. It's hell of a lot easier than dealing with US immigration.

Fair enough. I guess I'll consider my options too, especially if it drags towards November given the state of affairs socially and politically.

It's too funny to know that it's much easier for a person to live here illegally than to ever waste time doing it the "right way".

It takes them about 45 days to deal with any incoming paperwork or emails. Or at least, that's what I got told repeatedly.

I think it's honestly just volume of stuff they receive. It's got to be dealt with in the order they get it, and I think they just have a backlog. It's the same in any government department.

I'd say just wait it out. 6 weeks isn't that long, and if the case is complete otherwise I imagine it will get shunted onto the next stage as soon as they process that additional paperwork.

Case completes are taking 6 weeks now? It was around 30 days when I did mine. But yes, you will have to wait more or less the same time that you waited for the checklist. There's no way around it, at l.

It is worth it in the end, and after case complete everything happens really really quickly and before you know it you've got your visa.

I actually was thinking the same thing going threw the process. I just married last month and plan on doing dcf at the embassy currently still with my husband in his country. I had no idea it was so much of a process and to know how many illegals actually are in America it's kinda upsetting but we do remain positive threw out this whole thing

I love my husband ?‍?‍?

Married June 2016

Por siempre y para siempre Mi amor
