I don't know what it means (haven't started researching it yet) but upon running the CEAC K1 visa status check this morning... the case is now "Ready" with today's stamp on it.

It also says to check back in two business days.

I don't know if this is good or bad but I'm getting amped up. I sure hope it's good. It's movement at least.. right?

READY simply means the case file is not in any special process, it is sitting there.

Until you see CEAC status show ISSUED you just need to be patient.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

Update:

Yesterday the status was changed to "Administrative Processing."

Today... it was changed to "ISSUED."

Spent one day in "Ready" and one day in "Administrative Processing" before hitting the "Issued" status.

Good stuff! Almost time to start making plans!

That's what you want "issued". Don't buy airline tickets yet till the visa is in your hands. Check the visa for correctness once received. If it looks good then make your travel arrangements.

Sounds good to me! We were more worried about the actual processing. I figured they deal with mountains of applicants on a daily basis so when one has to be re-shuffled... I was worried that it would get lost in the system for months.

Can't edit the previous post so I have to add a new one.

The visa only has a 5 month window of usage. It was issued on the same day that the CEAC shows (28 September) and expires on 28 February 2017. So the start date wasn't when the medical finished.

Update:

We received an email today advising us to pick up the passport. So the passport is in hand now!

Congrats!

Next CFO

Only 5 months for you? ... How long did it take for the evaluation? Medical isn't done until that is done. ;)

Most are 6 months for the completion date of the medical... my wife's was.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

She attended the psych eval on the 9th and then her interview on the 13th. Not sure what the deal is with the 5 month thing.

The CFO can only be done in Manila?

CFO can also be done in Cebu :)
