Change SSN?

I received my EAD last month which I was so happy about

My issue is that when I am applying for work before I do should I go back to the SSN office to update my SSN info even though my last name didn't change?

I got my SSN before I got married and has the cannot work without DHS permission so I'm wondering when applying for work will my SSN# mess me up if I don't update it and remove the DHS part off?

I guess cuz I haven't found a job and since there is nothing in my SSN like credit or previous jobs I feel the places I applied for thinking I am lying of places I worked in Canada as I don't think my American SSN would have that info

I read your comment correctly. An American SSN will never have job history on it. That's not connected. The SSN is not really connected to anything. A SSN is ONLY a number used by the Social Security Administration to calculate your wages for retirement benefits. Other companies are allowed to use it because it is guaranteed to be a unique number, so that is why credit reports use SSN, but it is not connected to your SSN from the SSA, only connected in the credit systems. If a company thinks you are lying they can call your previous employers and confirm your previous employment (that's why you provide phone numbers of pas employers). Generally people assume your resume is correct, though, since the repercussions for lying would result in termination. Good luck.

I would suggest that you carefully read the specific TOS:

It is not referring so much as to the actions of the OP, but rather to the instructions/information provided by other VJ members responding in the thread.

My resume is 100% truthful , I was just wondering on how would they know with my SSN from US that I actually worked at those Canadian places but then a prev person said they would just call the #s I provided so I think I should be ok
