I just found the topic on filing from abroad - it looks like we may get auto-expedite. Which is pretty awesome! But apparently NSC is not super fast...

From what I can tell NSC does not seem to be doing auto-expedites. There's someone from March filing from abroad who's still waiting. CSC used to be like 30-40 days. :(

I-130

Nov 16, 2016: Case Number Assigned

Dec 6, 2016: NVC 3 N/A and Case Complete on Phone [1 day later!]

Is there a way I can call them to confirm whether or not it has been expedited?

Hi June filers,

Received my NOA1 with a notice date 6 June 2016

Is there a difference between priority date and notice date? Priority date was June 2.

Also, case number is still inactive when I check it on the USCIS site.why?

How is everyone else doing?

The priority date tends to be the date your I-130 was received (priority dates are not super important for the spouse visa, since those visas are unlimited).

The notice date is the date USCIS sent your NOA1 (Form 1-797C).

Have you received your hard copy of NOA1? The case status on USCIS seems to work by the time you get your hard copy. I received my hard copy of NOA1 today and my case status says "received". It might still be too early for your case status to be active online, I'd say try again next week.

USCIS

Sent I-130.........05/28/16

USPS Delivered.....05/31/16

Check cashed.......06/03/16

NOA1...............06/03/16

NOA1 (hard copy)...06/10/16

NOA2...............08/08/16

Hope the procedure completes soon. All the best. Does it say what service center your case was assigned to?

I apologize if you have already mentioned it before.

Congrats!!!

I'd say you should wait for a week ( I guess) after you get e-notification of NOA1. After that you should contact USCIS on their customer service number.

What service center your case was assigned to? I apologize again if you have already mentioned that.

Hey, fellow June filers!

Mailed my I-130 on Saturday, June 4. Saw the check had been cashed the check on Friday, June 10, and that same day I got text and email notifications. The ball is rolling!

My case was routed to Nebraska, which I thought was curious since I'm in California and there's a service center in California... I wonder how they determine where to send things?

USCIS

I-130 sent (Phoenix Lockbox): June 04, 2016

NOA1 received: June 10, 2016

Transferred from Nebraska to Texas: October 20, 2016

NOA2 received: December 14, 2016

Case number assigned: January 06, 2017

My question for the moment: Does the K-3 go through the same process (~4-5 months USCIS, 4-5 months NVC, 2-3 months consulate + interview) or does the process have fewer steps?

First of all, congrats on the new baby and your job offer!

I saw your question hadn't been answered yet; I hope someone else can chime in because I'm not sure this will be too much help, but I was told that the K-3 is sort of "extinct" or obsolete, and has been for several years now, so it's not really recommended.

Ok I'm reposting this and it's getting frustrating even more.

USCIS site shows error when I enter my receipt number which is dated June 6 and I received June 10.

I called and they told me it is active but wait 30 to 45 days.

What does this mean? Why do I get an error viewing it? !

Some center take a while to input the cases in the system. My case took over a month to show up so don't worry.

Your case not showing up in the system doesn't delay the process of your case. After my case finally show up I was approved a month after.

I'm from California too...and just received notification my I-130 for my stepchild was routed to Nebraska. Package sent June 6. Priority date is June 8. I hope NSC can go as fast as the CSC was to my last I-129F, which was 2 months.

Just found out my NOA2 approved Oct 25, 2013 is still good. Was automatically extended by the embassy until one year of the last date of notification which is Dec 3, 2013. It's a race now.

Thanks for calming me down. I pray it works quickly
