K1 and CR1/IR1 Visa's now schedule your own interview.(edited)

From May 3rd, the UK embassy has changed.

The way in which we schedule appointments changed on May 3. From that date, applicants schedule their own appointment after they have submitted the Notification of Applicants Readiness form. Appointments are scheduled online at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv. Please note that the Immigrant Visa Unit must be in receipt of the results of the medical examination on the day of your visa interview otherwise your application will be refused under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. The medical examination takes five workdays to be received by the Immigrant Visa Unit from the date on which it is performed.

Applications submitted prior to May 3: If you submitted the Notification of Applicants Readiness form prior to May 3, the Immigrant Visa Unit will contact you with instructions on the steps you are required to take.

So, things have changed... I think, does this apply to K1's?

so yes it would appear that this is now how you do it for K visas

Okay, I bit the bullet and scheduled through this. `You pay your fee at the same time.

Booked for 1st June.

it will be interesting to see how long it takes to get interview appointment if we are to arrange it ourselves. I assume they will have so many time slots available per day and it will be first come first served. Im waiting to reschedule my appointment which i hope will be soon, so not sure how this will affect me as I was given instructions to contact the embassy once i have court documents. I will be watching to see how it goes for futures K1/K2 applicants.

Earliest it let me was 28 days. And only one time showed, though other days may have more.

Interesting, it also says old passports.

For those interested, I had a look a month in advance, till July, all time slots are 12:00.

It seemed to be for all permanent visa's, and specifically K as a separate option. However, I don't know for certain about CR/IR 1, since our section of the embassy webpage updated to add the new step per Nich-Nick above, I'd still defer to your step by step on the CR/IR1 part of the embassy page.

Thank you Nich-Nick, I was looking at step 8 the interview and it didn't seem like the wording had changed.

As a DCF couple, this is a bit stressful, as you never know how changes like this will affect the whole timing of the process!
