When to chase NOA2

OK.... we submitted our I-129F application and have a received date of February 19th

The current processing times for this site say that they are processing February 25th.

Is it wise to chase now?

To get more help you'd need to fill in your timeline, but here you can see average times for different centers: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1historical
You will get an email(if you ordered it) and a hard copy of your NOA2, generally it seems you are within the waiting time so eveyrhting is ok. I don't think there is a need to "chase" it.

I know how frustrating the waiting can be. Our waiver was filed with USCIS in August 2015 and what was supposed to take four months at that time has turned into 10 so far. There are no guarantees with processing times. I'm afraid you're way too early to chase anything at this point.

Chase away on your end, at the very least will make yourself feel better that you are following up directly. Doesn't hurt!

We've waited for 4 months now and still haven't heard a word from them. Sometimes you wonder if the case ended up on the desk of someone who died or got sick or something. If so, you'd think someone else would pick it up.

I have completed my timeline thus far and it does suggest that I contact them directly:

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between April 19, 2016 and April 23, 2016*.

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline."

I thought they work through applications as they come, but it seems more problematic maybe?

Either-way... We will contact them directly.

They won't tell you anything other then you can call when it's past 5 months from NOA1...

I'm sorry to say that it won't help calling them. Even after 5 months it won't help it seems, they still give you the same standard answer. I think once your 5 months are up the only way to actually get them to try and find your case is to contact the ombudsman or something, I haven't yet heard of a case that had any luck by just going for an infopass.

Yes, I know. But from what I've heard that doesn't really make any difference. It feels like they keep these "options" to calm people down, to make them feel that they can actually do something about the situation, but it still doesn't really lead to anything.

Maybe guess it depends on why it is hold back. But it is the first step and after that you can get help if needed.

Me too, maybe we'll hear something the day before the 5 months are up. Not having to go through extra hoops would certainly do wonders for my well-being.
