Candian PR apply for his Chinese wife US tourist B2 visa. Any possbile rejection reason?

Dear Folks,

I am a Canadian PR and a Chinese Citizen. I got married in China in March this year. I was applying for my wife temporary resident visa for Canada after our marriage, but it was rejected.

Instead, I am thinking to apply for my wife the US tourist visa such that we can reunite for some time across the US-Canada border since I have a full-time job in Canada with limited vacation days and it takes a long time to process my family-class sponsorhip application to let her come to Canada.

Are there any details I need to take care of when I apply for her the US tourist visa. Will my Canadian PR status have negative effects on her B2 application due to the so-called immigration intention?

Your wife will need to apply for her own tourist visa (B2). Your Canadian PR should have little effect either way as it does not infer immigrant intent to the USA for either yourself or your wife.

The most important thing is she will need to have strong ties to China to convince the CO she will be departing the USA and returning to China at the end of the visit.

Your wife will have to prove to the satisfaction of the US consular official at the interviewing US embassy/consulate, that she has significant ties to the PRC such that she would return to the PRC after her US visit is completed. Such ties could include, property, house ownership, current stable employment, etc. Each visitor visa applicant is presumed to have immigration intent, and must prove that they are not trying to immigrate to the US. A letter from a doctor, any documents from you, or any other invitation-type letter would likely have no positive effect on the visitor visa approval.
