Will a doctor perform a physical for someone who is still considered a tourist?

Make sure you find a USCIS designated civil surgeon to fill up the I-693 form:

https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor

And this immigration medical exam is normally not covered by health insurance, you have to pay out of pocket.

So call up a few offices to ask for the price upfront before picking one.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

As someone who went through AOS from VWP (much like you're about the do with your husband), don't fret about the ESTA expiring. As long as you are married and you get the application off when you can feasibly do it then he'll be fine. Overstay is forgiven for the spouse adjusting status, it's just a peace of mind thing to be under some kind of 'legal stay'. There are a lot of people that don't get their AOS forms in well after the expiration of their visa for many reasons. The advice is to try and get it all finished and sent off ASAP so that you can get the NOA1 and breathe a little easier.

As for the doctor visit, you'll need an approved USCIS doctor to carry out the exam as it'll be officially sealed for use with the I-485. You might want to do a little shopping around though because each doctor charges a different price, and you'll want to get the best for you. He may also need to get some injections too, unless he can prove he's up to date on everything. Unfortunately I was missing a bunch of my records as a baby as I lived in New Zealand at the time but managed to get two shots for super cheap from a local health clinic and took the paperwork along to the medical. If he's had chickenpox as a kid then make sure he mentions this as he'll mark it for you otherwise he'll have to get a Varicella shot (we don't give them as a standard in the UK).

If you have any questions feel free to message me. We had a tough time of it at interview purely for adjusting from VWP and I can impart our experience if you need it to help with the nerves. The fun part is this doesn't stop after AOS, there's still ROC to come!

Husband came here on a tourist visa from U.K. We married about 2 weeks ago, and his visa expires in 17 days. Our baby is due in weeks, and I'm stressing we will not get a certified copy of the marriage license befor his visitor visa expires. We are using an attorney to file. What do you suggest we do? Additionally, will a doctor provide an immigration physical if the foreigner is still technically on a visitor visa? It's all so confusing.

Thanks for the help

You can adjust status of your husband with a tourist visa, just make sure you have evidences of a bonafide relationship like photos ( since you met, chats, emails , relevant marriage proofs like invitations, photos). You don't need a lawyer as it is easier and faster if you can do it on your own , you still need to provide the documents , your lawyer will just compile and submit which you can also do. Review thoroughly VJ's concurrent filing on AOS all information you need is there. Good Luck. P.S my advise is based on experience.

Well said. Some of the "experienced" people around here can really get on their high horse. The whole purpose of a forum like this is to share knowledge and try to help.

Best of luck with your husband and your baby!

Well said, I got grief from a fellow Brit yesterday. Perfectly innocent question and then felt as though I was being interrogated (by a fellow Brit to boot).

If you're not going to contribute anything worthwhile, find someone else to judge. He obviously didn't get into America illegally.

He is contributing. He concluded he didn't come on a visa. He came on the Visa Waiver Program. That means he is allowed to come here for 90 days WITHOUT a visa. Chill.

I am appreciative of all the help. I wasn't appreciative of the comments about knocking your head against a wall, and "so not a visa at all." Those are just aggravating and unhelpful to a situation that's all ready confusing and stressful.

I had two simple questions: 1. If his visa (whatever label it may be under) expires before the 90 day date stamp that says he needs to be out of the country, are we going to run into trouble? And 2. Will a doctor perform a physical for someone who is still considered a tourist? If I needed to provide other information, I asked what that may be. I don't know why I'm being painted to look as if I'm giving sass or ungrateful.

Thank you to those who are providing good feedback and well wishes, I really do appreciate the actual help.

Well it isn't. The whole point with the Visa Waiver Program is to be able to come here without a visa.

Just make sure you submit evidence of your marriage. Joint checking, savings accounts, maybe joint credit cards, Life insurance on each other, Wills.

Affidavits from a few friends and or family about your relationship. Car insurance, him on your health insurance, those are the kinds of things you need and USCIS is looking for. Send as much as you can.

Send a few pic, but make a album and bring to interview of all pics being together.

Best wishes on your journey and pregnancy.

As much as evidence is useful, this is AOS and ROC will be the best place to submit the whole spectrum of evidence. We only submitted our joint account, pictures, our social media interactions and our wedding cards. We didn't have anything else would could have supplied at the time, so don't fret if you don't have much as long as you have some. We didn't receive an RFE and were approved at interview, we brought along all documents and original papers as well as a photo album. The only thing she asked from me was my SSN.
