N-400 "5 years back" questions when filing under the 3-year rule

We didn't cross out 5 years and write in 3 on the form, but we did attach a sheet of paper with the continuing list of dates with a note highlighting that we are only listing back 3 years since we are applying as married to a US citizen. I think if people in this circumstance actually put 5 years back and weren't living in the US prior to 3 years back they will have at least 700+ days (2 years worth) of being out of the US, which may cause USCIS to go in panic mode.

@jimidrix5 I am also filing under 3 years rule but i dont want to edit N-400 form by cutting 5 Year to 3 Year . Can you please give me a sample of a sheet that how did you mention about 3 years info .

Enclosed please find my N-400 Application for Naturalization. I am applying based on three years as a lawful permanent resident married to my U.S. Citizen spouse. Responses on the N-400 form represent my three years as an LPR in the United States.

Thanks guys! I've done the same, as in, I crossed out "5 years" and wrote in "3 years" instead in all of the related questions.

So you crossed out on the n 400 form? It says on the instructions not to cross out anything. So you guys wrote N/A or None if you had e.g. Part 8 section 3 with nothing?

So I shouldn't write on another paper my address in other countries?

I also applied with the 3-year rule, despite being here for about 7 when I applied. I think that if you have been living here for 5 years or longer you should put the 5 years. If you were here less than that, then put the trips since you arrived here. I know it's a pain but I think it looks a little sketchy if you cross something out on the form.

So I have just completed my interview, and asked the interviewer explicitly about the 3 / 5 years worth of history in the application. He said that one's expected to fill out the forms according to their statutory period (3 years history back for 3 year rule filers). So all good, had no issues whatsoever.
