There are two ways to complete the passport renewal in the USA, go to the consulate nearest you, which looks like S.F.

OR  watch for a outreach event to come to a city near you and be signed up to complete the passport renewal.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everyone!

I am currently in the process of ROM that I submitted in Washington DC, I live in Jacksonville Florida btw. I am waiting to get my papers back so I can apply for new passport with a change name.

My question is I know that I have to apply in person but just to make sure can I do it in Miami or I have to do it in Washington (which I hope not bec that is waaaay too far from my location)?

Also is there like a express processing for passports? It says 8-12 wks, I need to make sure that I'll get it within 1st week of November 2017?

Hope to get a response from you guys soon!Thank you and have a wonderful day!

This may not go as you would like. To ensure by you'll need to allow about 2 months to be on the safe side. Whashington DC has outreach programs in other city's that they visit for one day. They go to different locations in Florida. Here are their 2017 upcoming events for 2017.

Thank you @greenbaum for responding but if I do it in one of the consular outreach program is it going to be faster?

I am worried that I am not going to get my passport on the right time and not sure where to apply closer to Jacksonville, although I have submitted e-mails on all 3 locations if Florida.

You must follow the instructions for the outreach event to get an appointment scheduled, and for those I looked at completed applications must of been mailed and received at the consulate by 19 June.  You are TOO late.
