Is it possible to complete the medical exam months (3-4) before the interview? I know the steps are to firstly schedule the interview then the medical exam, but just wondering if the medical exam can be completed before hand?

Also is their a current list of doctors one can go to, to complete the medical exam? I live in Canada and was wondering what doctors can do the exam here? Also is it possible for me to cross the border and complete my exam in the US or do I have to complete it here in Canada?

This is my first post here... so your patience is appreciated!

The medical is usually only valid for 6 months and when the medical expires so does your visa! So by doing it too early you might have to redo it! So just wait until you have your interview in sight! And you have to do the medical in Canada, the US embassy in Canada should have a link to approved doctors..

You need your P4 letter/email from the NVC with your interview date and case numbers before they will do a medical.

That is the list of doctors you can use in Canada.

You cannot use a US doctor UNLESS you are doing AOS while in the US on another visa, then that's a different list.

Thank you for your help and guidance!

I am also trying to have all my vaccines up to date before the exam... I have seen on this forum that I will need the Tdap, MMR, and chicken pox vaccine. What about the Hep A and Hep C vaccines? Just want to have everything I need. thanks in advance!

The physicians' websites list the vaccinations: it's TDAP. MMR and chicken pox (or if you've had chicken pox you don't have to get the vaccination). If your exam is in flu season (October 1 to March 31) you need the seasonal flu shot as well.

Canadians are not required to get Hepatitis vaccinations.
