Help with I130 bonafide marriage

can anybody tell me what is acceptable?

me and my wife just got married in FEB in Sudan,and I am worried about this part, are affidavits from family members any use?

I dont have money to buy property in her name and she has never been to USA

Focus on evidence of time spent together in-person, that is your strongest evidence. The affidavits carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file, skip them if you are light on other forms of evidence.

My husband and I married after only knowing each other for 8mo.

I included: 10 photos, 3 affidavits from friends/family, letter of intent and the i-130 , g325 forms, marriage cert, petitioner's US passport copy, and that is it for my package and it was approved, no RFE's. I would say to include the affidavits.

I agree that you should send the affidavits plus anything else, pictures etc. I know I was lucky because all I sent were affidavits so they must count for something. I was approved with no RFE

The more the evidence you have the better because i had 2 letters of witnesses at my wedding ceremony notarized in morocco to send in with my I-130...whatever evidence you have send it

My experience (expecting approval) I'm going to say what we sent just yesterday:

 

1- 5 Photos (wedding, visits of my wife to me, she, my stepson and I...)

2- A letter of my bishop's chapel (we belong to a church, LDS especifically)

3- Some Whatsapp Screenshots of our voicecalls (we talk everyday more than 1 hour everyday)

4- Passport Stamps of my wife's travels to visit me!

5- Boarding Passes and Bag Tag of the flights.

6- Money Transfers (via W.U) of her to me.

 

I say, include it, if you feel that are not having strong evidence, if you talk via whatsapp, messenger or any, take some screenshots to at least prove that you keep in touch everyday! But use the affidavits of your family, USCIS and NVC know that the step of buying property together is a late step in marriage, be concerned about that later, not now.

You don't have a visa yet, and have no evidence the affidavits made any difference in the I-130 approval process.  Chances are, the affidavits will serve as an indicator you are desperate, if they serve any purpose at all.   Your recommendation is based on the most common logical fallacy used by humans.  Google Post hoc, ergo propter hoc or "coincidental correlation".

You are mistaken by saying "you don't have a visa yet". This should be clearly indicated by my timeline as well as info under my avatar.

I am all the way through the process, which was extremely smooth, did not encounter any RFE's or other hiccups. I got the CR1, moved to USA, then removed conditions, and am now a citizen, so I would say that in my case the affidavits worked.

Every case is unique, every person that is reviewing our case is different also, maybe in one case the people in charge to review the case consider that affidavit letters are enough, maybe other not, it's  completely random this matter.

I repeat , if I were in AbuFatimah 's shoes I Will include it!!! Is my personal opinion!

agreed, that is exaclty what I was trying to say. That I recommend including them. Of COURSE every case is different, but people here often are interested in other people's experiences, so that is why I shared mine - same local office, etc.

I didn't check the timeline.  I only read about "approval" in the context of the I-130.  Either way, it's still the same false logic.  The only thing you can logically conclude based on the evidence you have provided is that YOUR affidavits didn't cause enough of a problem that they were not overcome by other parts of the totality of circumstances involved in your case.

100% agreed, of course and this, what we both are saying is the core of this thing:

(Of COURSE every case is different)

People in here (including me) are trying to retrieve the maximum amount of information, but based in every individual experience that is fully different from other, per haps, and i wish be like that in AbuFatimah 's case , the evidence is enough and doesn't get a RFE! Only time would say it!!!

If I'm not mistaken, VJ is a place for people to share their experiences, and what worked and did not work for them. 

So based on my experience, it was beneficial to include the affidavits. I don't see the harm in including them, as I don't think they would be detrimental, so that is what I based my advice on. Is your advice NOT to include affidavits?

And without knowing the circumstances of THIS or any other case, you haven't a clue whether THEIR affidavits will be helpful, harmful or useless.  More often than anything, they are useless.  Sometimes they are harmful and SELDOM are they "helpful".
