DS 160 questions and future mom in law insisting to wait for the letter from USEM

So had already inputs information in my DS 160 for a K1 visa. Read through the threads here for tips and advises. But I really wanna make sure of everything before signing and submitting the form online.

i need your opinions/reactions/advises about these:(although these queries seems to be repeatedly..and mixing up....) HELP..

1. Primary Employment: Not employed

Reason I state: "I recently resigned as a Nurse in preparation for my Visa Application. Getting all requirements requires my Full time."

Question: will that be enough to suffice why i am not employed? that's the real reason why i resigned as a nurse.

2. Vaccination requirement under US law: I answered YES to this. (though i haven't had my medical exam yet., but i presume during the interview, WE are all finished with the vaccination requirements, and there's no right or wrong answer to this part. So can i also answer this NO?? (since im not yet done with my medical during this signing up..)

3. Education: I'm a college graduate..therefore they asked the entire date started and ended the school. After asking some old classmates, I came up, estimating the first DAY of the month of the year I started. (14June1999 to 23March 2003).

Secondary School: (I went back year 1999 in my calendar and picked the second week of June as it always seems the start of our 1st day of Seconday School)

College: (also did the same above..."Guesstimation").

Question: Will i be alright with this???

4. LASTLY, my "future" mother in law insisting me to wait for the letter from the USEM before moving through the interview appointment and everything... In my own belief it's either it wont come or be delivered superrrrrr late....??

thanks everyone for this forum! wanting to hear more from you soooon!

This isn't vital. what you stated is fine, the trust always works ;)

2. Vaccination requirement under US law: I answered YES to this. YES is correct, as you will have your DS-3025 after your medical.

3. Education: I'm a college graduate..therefore they asked the entire date started and ended the school. After asking some old classmates, I came up, estimating the first DAY of the month of the year I started. (14June1999 to 23March 2003).

College: (also did the same above..."Guesstimation").

Answer as honestly as possible, can't expect more.

4. LASTLY, my "future" mother in law insisting me to wait for the letter from the USEM before moving through the interview appointment and everything... In my own belief it's either it wont come or be delivered superrrrrr late....??

1. While it's probably not a legitimate reason to not be employed, (this is coming from someone who works 30hr a week and attends a university full time and was able to do everything needed for the K-1) since this is for a k-1 visa, your employment should not be an issue. The DS-160 is also used for other non-immigrant (usually tourist) visas where the beneficiary needs to provide proof that they do not intend to immigrate. Having a job is one of the ways to prove that. Since you are filling out the DS-160 for a K1, you do not need to prove you do not have immigrant intent because it's already implied that you do because of the nature of the visa. Hopefully that makes sense.

2. I don't know too much about this as I don't know how the medical for the Philippines is done, but when we had our medical there was an option to get any vaccinations that were not finished done right then and there. We went into the medical thinking we had everything we needed, but it turns out we missed a few. We were able to get them done and did not have any boosters to follow up on, so we answered yes. Whether or not you will have a similar result with your medical, I have no idea. This is why we waited till after the medical to fill out the DS-160.

3. We estimated all of the dates for school as well. I would think it's fine. This section again may be more important for other non-immigrant visas than it would be for the k-1.

4. We personally waited on the letter. I'm not sure how good the Philippines are at pushing those letters out so it's hard to say. Depending on where you are in the process though, you may be able to get information by calling the NVC. We were able to get our interview date when we called.

LOL this is so funny!! already told my fiance..:rofl:

planning to sched my interview middle of march.

already paid the visa at BPI. ( is it okay to sched interview next week after paying the visa?)

Already completed the DS 160 but did not sign and submit it yet (so i can still access it and recheck it over again..within 30 days..)

I will set my interview appointment online next week and will look for available slot by middle of march.

NVC already mailed my fiance a letter stating our petition will be mailed to me and USEM will contact me...and the rest was information for our records such as case number, receipt number etc..

For the mean time, i made my documents ready like CENOMAR, NSO, NBI etc...

Have your fiance email you a copy of the NVC letter, bring copies of that to SLEC for the medical.

You schedule the interview 12-24 hours after your pay BPI... or even later, no worries.
