Mistake in DS-160 farther's day of birth, help!! (merged threads)

Hi Everyone,

I filled the DS-160 for K1 VISA and sent everything to the consulate today but after I realized that I filled the day of my father's day of birth wrong... instead of 16th, I wrote 19th... Ugh I feel so dump!

Do I have to fill a new DS-160 form? or can I just ask them to change it during the interview?

Please some help would be great!

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for the K1 VISA and I realized that I have misspelled my father's middle name in the DS-160... Instead of "Ennio" I wrote "Enio"...

I already have my interview booked so I don't really want to resubmit the form, plus I feel it's a very minor typo but I wanted to know if anyone has been in a similar situation and what they have done.

Personally I don't think it's a big deal; none of that came up in my interview. My mom's middle name is different depending on what piece of government ID of her's you look at... she moved from Quebec to Ontario when she was 4 with her Ukrainian speaking immigrant parents so you can imagine the kinds of translations she might have on her birth certificate, passport, age of majority card (back when these were issued) etc. None of it was the same lol. I picked one and went with it.

It shouldn't be a problem. You can correct it at the interview. Just let the CO know there was a typo in his name and provide evidence of the actual spelling.

Oh right, like teeak mentioned I had a copy of my mom's birth certificate with the spelling I used with me for the interview. Never came up though.

Okay, glad to hear! Thank you so much guys!

I realized the error when I got the translation of my birth certificate... so I'm glad I can tell them during the interview. It's good to know that it's not a big deal. I can show my birth certificate with correct spelling and hopefully it won't slow down the process.
