What is in packet 3? How can I prepare?

We just go our Noa2 thanks to ALLAH and many prayers. I'm assuming that our 129f is being sent to NVC now but I'm unclear as to what is next and how I should prepare. I'm thinking affidavit of support might be next but I'm unsure.

I make 56k and have been in this line of work 14+ years. I have 26k +/- 1k in bank and im the only one in the household. But what docs to I need to prove this? Last year taxes were filed jointly with my ex husband even though we lived apart and have been since 2012.

Do I need copies of tax returns or are my W-2s good enough? I also can get proof of income off my employee website, too. I'm scared that I need something from the IRS which might take forever.

Thanks in advance,

Aysha

If you look at Guides at the top top you can see what you need to prepare for the interview.

After Noa2 it will be sent to NVC who will sent it to your consulate and they will provide you with package 3. This is what you'll have to do before and prepare to the interview. BUT you should start collecting stuff now so look at the guidelines in the top tap.

This is where things start to vary by country, to an extent, which is why it's hard to tell you what will be in Packet 3. I can say one of the main things is completing the DS-160 online visa application, which in my case was a pre-requisite for scheduling my interview, which was also done online. Your fiance will need his passport information to complete the form.

For the remainder of what you need to do, it's pretty well documented in the guides.

In our case, my fiancée was not sent any Packet 3. When I contacted the embassy to inquire as to why, they just sent me what I assume would have normally been Packet 3 (instructions for what documents to gather, the medical, and scheduling the interview).

From this point it's embassy specific. I suggest using the above link and researching in your country portal for information of items needed for interview.

For casablanca you will get interview letter stating your interview information about medical and what doctors to make appointment with and also what documents needed to bring to interview . This is sent via email from consulate.

Thanks to everyone for the great advice! We just got our I-797 Notice of Action letter today. There isn't a place for that in our timeline as far as I could see. The letter just said, YOU ARE APPROVED, but we've known since 2/5/16 because we got the text and email alerts on our case. The letter continued to say that NVC will soon get our documents and they will notify us within 30 days.

I actually spoke to NVC on 2/5/16 (sorry USCIS, I couldn't wait) and they said as soon as they get it, they will just forward it on to Morocco because they don't do anything with K1 Visas anymore.

So hopefully, these files will go electronically, but no one could tell me for sure. Our case was in the California Center and the NVC is in New Hampshire. I'm not sure how quick this will be, but we are pleased with how our God has handled our case so far! I believe we were approved in about 39 days and we were approved at 9:30 PM on Friday night, only about an hour after our last prayers. Thanks be to Allah. :-) Today 2/11/16 we got the letter hoping it would give more details but it didn't tell us anything more than we already knew.

So just to update, I have read all the comments and advice! KUDOS VJ members! You are great! I did read up on Morocco and I looked at the country/embassy link. Today we completed the DS-160 application because we saw where someone said they had to do that before they could even get the interview date. So it's completed and saved online but not signed and submitted because we didn't want to confuse the NVC with an application arriving before our USCIS packet.

Now we will work through the other documents and try to have everything ready by the time NVC or Morocco Embassy asks for Packet 3/4.

I will post a new thread about flying to travel with your fiancé, so if you have advice on this, check out my new thread!

Thanks so much,

Aysha......PS I finally got a photo to load. Not the best photo but a photo nonetheless!

Your file is sent via mail to the consulate . Nvc usually takes about a month and from the time they send it out to casablanca about another month to get interview depending on how many cases they have they scheldue in the order it's revived . I had to email them to get my packet 3 and to keep up to date . It may take a few emails but don't email the consulate until atleast 2 weeks after your case left nvc . Everything is sent in email now good luck

And FYI ticket wise buy what ever is cheaper it doesn't matter as long as the ticket comes to the destination and they won't need a visa to stop over . I bought a one way for mine

Same as me here. I did not get the Packet 3 but I have received a call from US Embassy in Bahrain confirming they received the approved I129F from NVC. They also sent me an e-mail containing the list of the documents I have to gather & submit to them, once all documents are in my hands, I should contact them so they will schedule my interview.
