I really don't know the answer to your question. Date changes mean they are working on your case but they may not be ready to contact you yet. If you do travel answer your mobile and check your email daily.

Thanks for you comment carolynhotstuff. that is exactly what i am thinking but at the same time i am thinking now that if i notice more date changes next week then i will definitely postpone other travel plans. What do u think?

What you can do is email the embassy to check your status and see what they say. They may ask for documents, another interview or whatever they need.

yeah was thinking of doing that but i am using a lawyer and the problem lawyer responses very late sometimes. I am not sure it will be alright with embassy specially if I will email and not my lawyer asking those questions

I had a lawyer to help me and a congressman but I still sent emails to the embassy myself and if they would not answer me then I would use my lawyer or congressman.

hmm, so basically i would have to ask my lawyer for emailing them. Did embassy responded then to your lawyer emails?

Yes they would respond to my lawyer sometimes. For a faster service try to email them yourself.

@carolynhotstuff, need ur opinion pls. Embassy emailed my lawyer the instruction letter asking for medical and filled out ds 260 form with passport. Now i can submit all documents except my passport because i am not sure how long are they going to take to issue visa and i must have to travel this month out of country.

Will it be ok or done be anyone to not submit passport when they ask, is it ok with them? if they can guarantee the issuance of visa within few days then i would but like with most males are placed in AP, i am hesitant to give them passport at the moment. Pls need ur advice!

What I would do is wait until I got back from my trip then send the ds 260 and medical along with the passport or you can send them the ds 260 now and wait until your return to send the medical and passport.

hey thanks again for helping me and sharing suggestions! love the ppl from this site who offer great advises :)

here is what i am thinking, i will submit ds 260 with medical and a letter stating an exact date when i will be able to submit passport. That way at least embassy will know when to expect to have passport and also i will get a sense of surety whether embassy wants to give visa now or a later time, to which i think they will most probably give it later because of AP and if they are to my surprise want to give visa right away then i am sure they will ask me to send passport now. It is a very strange situation but i think doing in the way above which i wrote gives a window for them to tell me when is the visa issuance actually gonna be. What do u think?

The medical is only good for 6 months. If you are going to travel a month or more out of Pakistan then if they do issue the visa you won't have 6 months to get to the USA. Can you fly to the USA with only 3 or 4 months left on your visa?

Isn't medical valid for a year now!

I can travel within 3 or 4 months, that's not an issue. Basically i want to travel out of country to wrap my stuff from uni and come back and wait for AP to be over and finally get visa issued. So when i will travel soon, it wont be more than a month i believe
