Hello,

I don't think this topic already exists for last month of the year filers!

I'm adjusting from B2 Visa and sent our package this morning so pretty excited to be finally over with the first step!!! All of these forms and documents to send... it is a lot of work!

The Post Office clerk said the package should arrive on Monday but maybe I will only be able to check the tracking on Tuesday.

What does happen after? I know I have to patiently wait but do we get an email from USCIS when they receive the package? We sent the G-1145.

Also, do you know if I can already apply for a SSN and a State ID?

Oh and I had to make 3 different money orders to pay the fees (yesterday was a fun day taking care of this.. ). The money order limit is $1000 so impossible to have a money order of $1070 for I-485. I went to different banks and they all said the same. hope they will accept 3 different money orders!!

you should have sent cheque. but don't think your money order will be rejected. You cannot apply for SSN until you are approved of EAD or the Green card.

We sent the package a week ago, still didn't hear anything. They received our docs on Sunday December 6. They also didn't cash the money orders.

We sent the G-1145 along with the other documents. That means they will notify us when they have the documents in hand and start working on them?

Congratulations on the first step. We just sent ours on Monday and UPS states they received it on Wednesday morning.

We also experienced the same thing with our bank. But as long as they get the correct amount it should be okay.

Best of luck to us all. Keep in touch.

Good morning December filers,

This morning my husband received the text message from USCIS that confirms they received our case and gave us a receipt number. I already checked the number online and it says they sent the receipt notice by mail and to follow the instructions in this notice.

Is this the NOA?

So it took 1 week for us, from the moment we sent the package to the moment they confirmed by message.

How is it processing for you all?
