Hello all!

After years (literally lol) of reading through everyone's posts and experiences, it's finally my turn!

Just a little background:

I'm USC by birth

Hubby EWI 2007.

Started dating 2010

Engaged 2014

Married Nov. 2015 (L)

We're getting ready to send in the I-130 on Wednesday and I'm so excited! We are using a lawyer, but this site has a wealth of information and is such a supportive community, I wanted to be a part too!

I'm looking forward to meeting new people going through the same thing as us :)

Submitted 1-601a: 6/18/16
Received rejection notice of I-601a was "missing" the fee receipt: 7/6/16  :ranting:  Re-submitted I-601a: 7/11/16
Submitted AOS, IV, and DS-260 packages: 7/12/16
NVC scan date: 7/18/16
USCIS accepted waiver:7/19/16
Biometrics letter received:7/28/16
NVC case "complete" pending waiver approval: 8/4/16
Biometrics done:8/10/16
Waiver decision: 12/8/16 Approved!!! :dancing:
Case complete at NVC: 12/13/16
E-mail notification from NVC of appointment: 12/30/16
Medical scheduled: 02/20/17 and  Fingerprints scheduled: 02/21/17
Appointment at Mexican Consulate:02/22/17 AP due to unresolved court case in U.S that we were assured was no longer an issue😭
U.S judge finally accepted plea in absentia and signed paperwork arrived at Mexican Consulate:04/20/17
Visa approved: 04/25/17 Visa ready for pick up in Mexico City: 04/28/17
Hubby is home!!!: 05/01/17😊

Package arrived home (sent 1 day too early) and resent with updated date on check/signed application: 2/25/19
Package arrived at Lewisville Texas: 2/26/19 10:25 a.m. signed by T. Edwards
Text stating case was received, (case number SRCXXX): 3/1/19 at 4:34 p.m.

Case transferred to MSC: 3/14/19

Received biometric appointment letter for 9/11/19 on 9/5/19

Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview:9/18/19    Interview/approval:2/4/21. Card arrived:2/11/21

Welcome! and Congratulations!!! this website is the place to be. I felt so lost until someone told me about the website and you will have people here with a wealth of knowledge. With the assistant of many Visa Journey members will did not get a lawyer. Good Luck!

  • Got Married: July 25, 2015 (L)

  • Sent I-130: August 23, 2016

I-130: Approved! wohoo! February 17, 2016

NVC Received: March 07, 2016

Sent IV Package : March 28, 2016 We got a checked list :ranting: - NVC lost English translated police certificate :protest: wuah! delayed us 1 month!

Received Instruction and interview appointment letter- June 29, 2016

Interview in Cairo August 29, 2016 :idea: - Interview went well, Approved :) wohoo!!!! *I (petitioner) attended interview with my husband. Overall interview went well, (with the help of this forum) questions asked to me When did I arrive Egypt? How many times have I visited? Do I live in Egypt? Questions asked to my husband Where did we meet? How did we connect?(this is what she asked, i guess she meant how did we stay in touch) Did we have a wedding?

Visa ready August 31, 2016.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
