Visa required before going for CFO Seminar?

I am flying my fiancee into Manila a bit earlier to get the medical done prior to the interview. However, there will probably be a few days in between the medical and the interview where she will have nothing to do, and I was thinking of having her go to the CFO Seminar during this time, as advised by some other members.

However, from the online registration system, they ask you specifically whether or not you have your fiancee visa already, as they have made this a requirement to register for the seminar. My question is whether a visa in hand is really a requirement given many people have advised us to take the seminar while waiting for the Visa issuance?

So on the GCP Online Appointment form there was a question (Question #4) asking "Do you have a fiancee partners visa" and I answered "No" given that we have not done the interview yet. It seems like it still let me schedule the interview anyway. My question is what impact will answering "No" to that question have, if any?

She can attend the CFO seminar tho she can only get the sticker once she has her passport with the visa on hand. Which means, she would need to go back to CFO to get the sticker & certificate.

Visa is not required to complete CFO. You are filing out the wrong documentation. See my comments below.

You are registering at the wrong place. K1/K2 use the selection found on the left column about 1/2 of the way down the page you will see "Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar" with 4 selections (1) Emigrant (2) Fiancée/Spouse (3) J-1 Visa Holders and (4) Au Pair. You select #2 and choose the location Manila or Cebu and then proceed filling out the form.

Hi Greenbaum,

I believe that I am registering in the correct place? When I click through the links you mentioned above, it eventually brings you to http://gcp-appointment.cfo.gov.ph/, which I believe is the same page I had registered at. I've attached a screenshot of the confirmation page as well.

Would greatly appreciate if you could confirm whether or not you still think I registered in the wrong place, as I'll need to reschedule if I did this wrong.

I second what Greenbaum said. Be sure to allow AT LEAST a week after the medical before you have the interview, so that information can get from St. Luke's to the Embassy. But book the interview at the Embassy now, so you get the time slot you want.

Tom

Thank for for updating your timeline. (My Assistant, then edit/add my timeline.)

I'm trying to book the interview date but unfortunately, I don't think they have opened up any time slots for the month of January yet. Only December is available and that is too early for me due to awaiting police clearance from Singapore. Do you know when they typically open up subsequent months for interview?

There is no set time when they open up the next month. I would believe they wait as long as they can to insure that December is filled before opening January. Shouldn't be much longer.
