Hi everyone,

My wife applied for I-130 on June 12, 2015. and for k-3 visa on July 9, 2015.

We thought we would get approved for i-130 before thanksgiving, but it's thanksgiving already and a bunch of people who applied after us got approved before us and some of them are from the same country I'm from. and We're sure that all what they need was provided.

My wife called the USCIS and they said that if we didn't get approved in next month so we should call them.

I'm wondering what's going on! Are we the only couple who's still waiting for the approval since June? It seems like this

I live in Amman, Jordan. Some people told me "It would take 6 months to get the visa after we get approved." Is that right?

Please help!

Hi,

The USCIS can take 5-6 months so I'd hope you hear back from them in 2 weeks. If not, your wife can definitely call them and if need be, she can get her senator involved. I went with the CR1 visa instead of the K3 so I'm not sure how long it would take for your case at the NVC. Good luck!
