I'm a US citizen planing to bring my parents to US. I'm preparing the documents right now. Have couple of questions;

1. What's the difference between forms i-864a and i-864? Which forms should i fill out? I'm not eligible to become a sponsor, my friend will.

2. Which official forms besides i-864/i-864a and i-130 have to be filled? Is there a checklist for my particular case?

thank you for your help and happy Thanksgiving

1. I-864A is only for a household member adding their income, so both you and your friend will file I-864.

2. Bio forms, poor of citizenship and others, see our Guide here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/immigration-parents-overview

Ace High:

Thank your friend profusely for being willing to act as a joint sponsor. He's signing a long-term contract with the Federal government that makes him reponsible to support your parents if they need it: the government can sue him if your parents receive certain benefits, and your parents can sue him if they require assistance and he doesn't provide it.

Encourage your friend to read and understand these obligations.

He can learn more--and you can find a list of the related documents to be filed--at the Affidavit of Support Help Center.

I think you can advertise on VJ if you want to pay to do so.

Thanks. I filed myself for removal of conditions and then for citizenship, so i was hoping to file these forms myself.

So i will file separate I-130 for each of my parents and separate i-864 forms filled by me and another by the sponsor.

Some things are not clear to me:

1) Form I-130 part C 17.

List spouse and all children of your relative.... name ... relationship.

Let's say i'm filing for my mother. So i list my father there and in relationship field do i put Spouse or Father? Relationship to me or to intended immigrant?

2) Form i-864

Family member 1 Family member 2 Family member 3... what do i write there? (see family-member.png)

3) Form i-864 what do i type here if i'm married with no children and what should my sponsor type here if he is married with 2 children? (see sponsoring.png )

Thanks.

hi

no the i693 is for medical and vaccinations to adjust status in the US, they will have the medical and vaccinations in their country before the interview

C17 on the i130 is to list the family of the intending immigrant

where the list of family members is you do not write anything

it clearly states to not list anyone with a separate petition, and since there are no derivatives on parents petition

the only one immigrating on your mom's i864 is your mom, and viceversa with your dad's

hi

the copies of the documents and the translations into English are the same in both petitions

so your mom will need a copy of the marriage certificate as well, and also if either one have been divorced, copy of the divorce decree

if you aren't a US born citizen, you will also need to send a copy of the original birth certificate

the translations always go with the original document in the foreign language

Got it. Are there any other forms i will have to submit besides what we have listed above?
