Hi,

Just arrived in LA last nov 2,2015 and planning out our TO-DO list.

I read on some threads that it is advisable to get a SSN after 10-14 days of arrival in the US to make sure I'm already in the SAVE system, is this right?

After getting an SSN, we can apply for marriage licence and get married. Go back to SSA office to change name.

Then we can file for i-485 for AOS with i-765 and i131 at the same time. ?

Am i missing something? Thanks for any input..

Wait...I forgot a few things...

Remove conditions on your green card.

Get your U.S. citizenship.

Get a U.S. passport.

Report your marriage to your Philippines Consulate.

Reacquire your Philippines citizenship.

Get a new Philippines passport.

And don't forget to get a driver license.

That's all for now...

LOL Tahoma, I think your list is a few years down the road compared to what the OP is asking ;)

If you have become a California resident it seems you have 10 days to get a California Driver's License, for which you need a SSN.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
