Hello there!! I was a F-1 Student here. But I am in the process of submitting my I-485 on the basis of the new filing date (for approval of EAD and travel documents) that started off this October.

I really need help on the basis of my application on the Part 2 of I- 485. Should I pick option A, that states my priority date is current (it is only current for filing not for visa availability) or, should I pick 'other'.

I am sorry if the question sounds confusing.....but I would appreciate any help!!

Thanks a lot!! :)

I would pick either A, or H using the reason "Filing date is current".

Either/or.

Hello, I am also F1 and in the process of doing the same thing. I chose A. Can we keep each other updated on what is happening with the application? What about the AP application. I do not plan to travel outside the US at this moment. Should I still apply for I131 though I do not have a set date for travel? Thanks.

Hey there!

Sorry for the late reply. I also didn't necessarily plan on travelling, but just submitted the I-131 anyways....because I thought there is no harm in having an approved date for travelling!

There's no reason not to, since the fee is waived, even if you don't plan to travel. Life happens, and you'll be grateful that you have the AP if there's a family emergency that requires you to travel at very short notice.

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".
