well you have a month, why not have a small wedding with your family since they missed the first one, Im sure those other guys are right about the ceNOmar being ok though, But if it was me, I would just get a rev and get married in Pinas for your family, you could probably get the CEMAR with just the signed marriage liscense, and not the official NSO certificate, I think NSO cert is 15 days waiting, but CEMAR should only be 1 day as my wife tells it, in manila anyway

I appreciate your suggestion but just getting a marriage license here will take like around 3-4 weeks already and my husband cannot just go here and leave his work.

How long before your interview? if i had time I would just take the marriage cert from USA to NSO and get an NSO cert also, Im guessing they will do that, then turn around and apply the CEMAR same day you pick up the marriage cert

Marriages outside the Philippines must be recorded through the consulate having jurisdiction in that area.

They are already married, a second "recorded" marriage would only cause additional issues.

Agree a second recorded marriage will only cause problems. The two choices will be to report the marriage at the philippines consular in the US where the marriage took place. It is probably not enough time to do that

2 choice get the cenomar and take that and the U.S marriage certificate to the interview

Please don't get confuse, CENOMAR or Certificate of No Marriage can be get by anyone who did not file any Certificate of Marriage of Marriage Contract or CEMAR. Seems your getting confuse and equate the two. It will only took you around 3-4 days to have it if you can get from any SM Malls or Robinson Malls nearby. Or 1 day if you get one from NSO office in Quezon City.

Hi Guys,

I'm preparing for my upcoming interview in Manila, i hope anyone can help me. Me and my husband got married in the US and didn't file for report of marriage in our nearest consulate. When I called NVC they said that a CENOMAR/CEMAR (certificate of marriage) is not one of my requirement since the marriage didn't take place in Manila. Now I'm just curious because on the interview day the usually ask for CENOMAR/CEMAR and I'm afraid that I won't be able to present one just in case they asked me too since my local NSO office cannot issue me one because again marriage didn't take place in Manila.

So for those who is also from Philippines and got married in the US and already done with their interview, can you please share your experience with me? TIA

Hello there! You will need to report your marriage to the Consulate. You can do this Via mail but it will probably take a little bit longer. My wife and I's report of marraige took about 3 months. Then another 2 months to order the paperwork from the NSO (they made clerical mistakes with my wife's name). I'd budget at least 4 months to get everything arranged.

If you have any questions regarding the process for reporting your marriage let me know. There is still hope! You may have some delays with your upcoming interview though.

Attached is a picture of what our report of marriage and CEMAR look like for your reference :)... The file name is "CENOMAR" but its really a "CEMAR" since we're married.
