started working on h1b. i was divorced and met this girl online. dated almost 1.5 year.

after few months in to the marriage , i got laid off and as my visa my expiring we decided to apply for GC instead .

i finally got my EAD and i found another job before we went our GC interview.

things were not good after i lost my job first time and she became so much suspicious that i am not allowed to go anywhere

and she be constantly monitoring my email and phone all the time. anyway, it is second marriage for both of us.

things started to get better and she started complaining and talking down that i was not romantic enough , you know what i mean.

me and the marriage did not fit the mental picture she had. we had an argument and she called cops and started

telling lies about how i am a bad person and an abuser. none of it is true. i swear none of it is true.

i went to pre trial, my Domestic violence (DV) case was dismissed , my lawyer and immigration lawyer got me take mis demeanour

plea and i had 6 months probation and it was dismissed in 4.5 months for good behavior and completing my program.

she started calling right from the day of the pre trail. she kept begging me to come back to her ..

i have proof of it all .. everything documented. phone calls , she calling me names and asking to get back.

i was depressed and lonely and took her back , now we are together again.

mine was bonafide marriage, i had good status before i even met her.

the DV happened after 4 months i got my Conditional GC.

simple common sense question, if i am what she claimed me to be , why would she come back to me begging ??

i still have 6 months to file for .

she been doing ok now, she has episodes of rage some times but ..

following are my questions.

can i travel overseas before i file for extension,

will i be stopped and given hard time at the port of entry.

how hard it be to remove conditions on my GC.given that in the last decade i been here i never had issues with the law.

will we or if she leaves again, i be called for an interview... i have lot of proofs and confident can take a poly as well..

i am really confused...

please share your thoughts, no criticism, as been doing a lot of soul searching of how i got to this point.

So there are 2 issues here:

  • Removal of Conditions: Well, you just have to file it; either jointly with her cooperation, or on the basis of divorce without her cooperation. I mean, there's no alternative so there's no point worrying.
  • Travelling abroad: It's a good of you to consider this because permanent residents who have committed "crimes of moral turpitude" or drug crimes can be denied entry to the US after travelling abroad. I'm not exactly sure what you plead guilty to or whether it counts as such a crime. When you did your plea deal, did your lawyer advise you about immigration implications? You might want to talk to a lawyer about this before you leave.
