Hi guys, so I have a question here. We filed our application of K1 visa this past August 16 and got our NOA2 already. We are just getting ready for the interview and that we have two red flags. We have a significant age gap of 29 years and that we have just been talking for 7 months now. We have seen each other twice. Both of us has never been married and no criminal records either. So my main concern is about the age difference, would they question that and the length of time that we have been dating? We just want to start our life together-together. Thank you all

P.S. Would it make our chances of getting approved higher if he comes to the interview with me?

What supporting evidence do you have from the visits and otherwise?

Interview attendance by the petitioner as always regarded is a plus (where permitted) and certainly regarded as something that could only support your case and would never hurt, but not required.

When we submitted I-129F we included all our evidence of having met such as tickets, hotel reservations, passport stamps and photos together and our chat logs too. Our concern now is that we have to submit evidence of continuous relationship from the time we filed up to the time of interview and we only have our daily chats. What are our chances?

Other members would have to chime in, definitely seen some age gaps, but this one is pretty large of one. I know its not supposed to matter but I also know the smallest littlest things have tripped up some....I think the more evidence the better certainly. I would suggest the Search feature, one thread has over 40 pages:

Some embassy are a lot harder for large age gaps. However the Philippines are not as hard. It might be harder if you are young around 18 and he is 40 something that might make a different compare to if you are 30 and he is 57 I have seen many people on here get approve from there with large age gap. I think that you and him have only been talking for 7 months will be more of a problem. you should send in as much evidence as you can Pictures of the both of you and with family, chat and text msg ,passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts. You have seen each other twice so that is good, I will not worry so much about the age gap for the Philippines and more about proving your relationship if I were you

Quite normal for PI.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I will say your chance is very good that is sufficient evidence and the interview there is a lot easier then some countries

Thank you for the positive reply. That lifts our spirit!

If work schedule allows it, he may come with me to the interview for support and maybe to make our chances higher.

My fiancees friend from medical had a 43 year age gap. Her friend is already in the US. So i dont think that matters.

Thank you that helps. We should be fine then..

It is against the law to discriminate on age gap. I am a female 20 years older than my fiancé. I had a very intense interview. Age never came up. what helped is the fact that I went to the 2nd interview after his visa was refused the first time. Plenty of evidence of on going relationship is always a plus. Good luck

Two duplicate threads (one here, one in the Philippines forum) were merged in the latter forum. That combined thread is now locked to further comment, because of the existence of this thread. OP, starting multiple threads on the same topic is considered to be spamming the forums, a serious offense. Don't repeat it.
