heated/ cooled seats in our car.

I made fun when my husband pointed it out as a plus when he bought the car, but I loooove those things now, both for the cooling in summer and the warmth in winter.

Mrs. T-B. was amazed (and was soon attracted) by the concept of resale stores and garage sales.

In Ecuador, people use their stuff and wear their clothes till they fall apart.

For years, she expressed her perception that "gringos having too much 'stuff.'"

Now that she's one, you don't want to see her kitchen or clothes-closet.

She found that gringos are willing to give up a LOT of high-quality or perfectly serviceable "stuff."

This is a good one, i know other places and people, they will fix something forever or hoard stuff for the 'one time they need it' that never comes..

The key is to give it up in some way, whether at a garage sale/resale shop or after one's own death at an estate sale.

Ah cheers from KC visaqueries....I took look forward to the day all the paperwork will be behind me but still on the first leg fo the journey :/

Depending on the traffic / construction in KC, its amazing your husband learned any apprecriation for Cruise control at all ;)

My husband loved being able to use cruise control. He hated at first, but when we went to buy a car, he insisted it have cruise control. There's not much need for it in Cairo :).

Ive learned internet speeds wary wildly, and even here in the States people that dont use an adblocker, I feel like i have been transported to a 3rd world country or US1997.

But also learned that youtube and moron videos of people doing idiotic things, transcends time/language and culture. :)

High speed internet and NETFLIX :D

Now quite the benign/innocent I was thinking but glad you feel safer. Bribes are still taken in the US, they are just more subtle and called; home association dues, taxes, fees, service charges, donations ;) j/k

Not living behind high walls and not being asked for bribes from cops :/

My husband is from Canada and he goes nuts about the food; the variety and the low cost compared to Canada.

"Like why do we literally have like 15 flavors of Oreos here in the US? And why can we buy them at 3 packs/$5 sometimes!?"

We live in NY, so he gets even more excited when we travel to NJ and PA where stuff is even cheaper.
