i-539 Extension of B2 Visa - A Valid Statement

Hello,

My mom is on B2 visa that expires on November 1, 2015. I though about extending her stay since we have two little children ages 2 and 6 months to help us until early next year before they go to a daycare, etc. My mom is in her 60's and it is getting tougher for her to travel as well. Do you think that by stating that she will help me with my kids and travel back and forth from Europe to US is not easy for her a valid reason for the extension?

Thank you for your input.

Generally speaking, extensions are only granted for extraneous reasons, ie medical emergencies. But stranger things have happened.

babysitting, even by relatives, is considered work, and thus, not allowed. To test that opinion, just have her put 'childcare' as the reason for her extension request and see what happens....BTW, putting other excuses down is technically committing fraud...something to think about...
